  1. I signed up on geocaching website about 4 years ago and you can go on some pretty neat hunts. There are several caches not too far from your place Mike. There is probbably 1500 in the LP of Michigan alone. I have never had time to find a cache but I have found datum markers. I think it would be fun to go X-country sking for some sometime in mid winter and enjoy the beautiful woods in the snow without fear of being shot by a gunslinger.
  2. That bucks a skyscraper.....Nice!!
  3. Everything worked well this year including that Stinger Killer Dolphin Mike pictured. But I would have to say that every time I ran the Dreamweaver Modified Blue Dolphin it took something. Both are beat up pretty bad and I believe sometimes that does help....
  4. I was out there fishing with Don and your right Terry they loved it fast. Those steelhead were flying out of the water, what an awsome day! We took so many ripps fishing for those steel I think we lost count.
  5. I will be at the deer camp through Sunday. Otherwise I would be on.
  6. Glad to hear you guys made it in ok. Thats just another reason to check everything out before you get on the big lake no matter how short of a trip. Good thing the weather was good cause it could of got nasty in a hurry. Great job on the kings....
  7. My son just turned 2 and my daughter just turned 3. My daughter got her first king on my dads boat this summer but I had to hold the rod up for her. I have to get them trained good so I can fish all of Mike's GLFTT tournaments next summer cause my normal crew won't be able to make all those events!
  8. Saturay I help my dad get his boat all tucked away for the winter. Then we launched my boat with the whole family and headed out the pier heads around 3:30 to look for some perch. We wound up in about 65 fow and drifted into around 40fow in about 3 hours. Thats about all the kids could take. After undooing the tangles and settling the kids down we headed in with 16 good size perch and a decet catfish:) Sunday it was just my wife and the little ones and this time we were armed with the portable DVD player. This was training day for my wife. She wanted to do all the rods and riggers and learn everthing about them. I think some of my addiction has rubbed off on her! We marked tons of fish in the 75-120 zone and could not get any takers except for a lonely laker. Atleast we were not skunked. I am just happy I was out on the water today cause it was a beautifull day to be on the water and get some much needed family time in. Here is my kids reeling the riggers in for me
  9. Nice job Jarod, I may see you out there this weekend. I'll give you a call and we can swap some reports.
  10. A few years back I did some jigging with some sweetish pimples and hooked one and never landed it. However I did see quite a few guys dragging some hoggs off the ice. This was over on the North side of the lake by the sports complex...I think thats what it is.
  11. Husqvarna- Only because I ride their dirt bikes..And my uncle has had one for lots-o-years and no trouble. I think he got it from my grampa way back in the day. I know that you don't want to cheap out cause you'll wind up spending more fixing and replacing one in a year versus buying a good one to last a lifetime.
  12. All I can say is WOW!! I am going to need more fish repellant for Don! That sounds like a HUGE undertaking but fun for everyone. I know that I would enjoy fishing closer to home and other ports every now and then. I can't wait to hear more.
  13. Not shure if I quite understand Mike. Are you saying that each port will have 5 tournments and then the top 30% from that port fish a common classic event against the top 30% from the other ports? Can you break down a small senario to help understand a little bit. Would a division be perhaps St. Joe, South Haven. And another be Holland, Port Sheldon ect.?
  14. Thanks Sixshooter for the correction... I had a blast fishing all these tournaments. I would love to do it all over again Sea-Mac cause that 23lb king BottomsUp75 hauled in is going to haunt me all winter long. It was a monster....
  15. Sixshooter, Your spreadsheet is incorrect, you have my big fish weight as my points for the 5th event. Also your finish place in the first column is incorrect.
  16. Nice catch Mike, the fishing was tough this weekend. After experiencing the combat fishing out of Muskegon your better off trolling the shore for sure. I could'nt believe how rude some of those guys were in the channel. I would not call them sportsmen. I love the peace of the open water. Good luck in the Grand Haven tourney.
  17. Nice Job.....4 at once, that sounds like fun!
  18. Love the chrome on those fish pictures......Nice catch guys.
  19. Nice job Tom, I'll bet you and Pat are having a ball up there this weekend. Keep up the good work.
  20. Nice report... You'll find those silver ones next time.
  21. Nice report Tom........I had a similar setup out untill it got wrapped in my lead core..... That was the end of my lead program on Sunday, I stuck with 2 riggers and 2 diseys as well.
  22. Thanks Don...You and your crew can do pretty darn good filling the cooler with big fish. I know you'll have everything fixed up in a couple weeks because you know I am only a 5lb king behind you!! I would bet if you call up sub-troll you could get that probe fixed or replaced pretty quick. I think the water conditions were tough on everyone in one way shape or form.
  23. They are not the highest quality pics in the world there just off my cell phone.. I have a couple more I can email you tom PM me your email address.
  24. Heading in for weigh in: Channel Shot: Channel Shot 2:
