  3. Your name "Take Six...." Does that mean it takes 6 different methods to land one monster king:) That's an awsome story, Sounds like a wall hanger with some unique tackle in the mounting!
  4. My next riggers will be vectors no doubt about it. I will use mine untill they die but until then I will keep dreaming. You don't nessesarily need downriggers to have success, check out the forums on copper/lead core and dipseys.....They are a deadly force
  5. Welcome Aboard Kevin!! The fun has just started!!!

  8. Nice Job on the Nee-Hi in July!!
  9. I like to be able to resonably get the fish in the net once reeled up. Depends on how high your boat is off the water and room to pull the rod back. If your lead is too long and the fish decides at the last moment to go off the side you need to have a little rod left to work the fish out of the other rods and rigger cables.
  10. Nice job Tom, Nice to see you made it over to this side of the state. The fishing should pick up...Good luck!
  11. Great Lakes Special There. Nice boat. Set it up and get her ready....
  12. Went out on a buddies boat and he has never caught a fish on the big pond. His equipment consisted of 2 rods and 4 rod holders. Soooooo I brought a small tackle shop and 5 of my rods with me to see if we could break the ice for him. The setup was 2 rods with 1lb pencil release drop weights 1 wire diver and 3 lead lines. 2 rods were stuffed between the seats!! We took 3 rips on the 7 color with purple glow tiger untill the last one broke the hook. This setup landed the only fish. Then one hammered the NBk 30 down on the drop weight. We found the steelies in 60-65fow south of the pier right on the mud line. I saw fish swirling the surface everywhere but we ran out of time after we figured them out.......I think after Kevin reeled in this steel he is now addicted and I am sure he will be setting his boat up soon.
  13. That little boat puts a ton of bigger boats to shame!! Way to go guys keep on keep'n on.
  14. Setting boundrys on a salmon tournament is like telling people they have to be nice combat fishing in the fall time around Muskegon. It may never happen. Sorry to hear the fishing sucked. The fish will be here soon. I would bet you tried everything in the book and must of been 2 long days of fun aboard the sniffer.
  15. By my calculations 3,469 fish were caught while reading this post.... Other than that fishing is unpredictable thats why its so fun. You never know when they'll turn on but based on the large fish caught this spring there will be some whoppers caught this fall. I recall hearing the DNR was cutting back on stocking to allow the bait fish to repopulate because people were complaining about small fish due to no bait. I could be wrong. I have a feeling some people out there are going great guns having their best year.....Thats the way it goes.
  16. Nice pics Ken, Great Work!
