  1. He'll do a fine job in his new role. Congrats Adam. Tom
  2. Is the float stuck?
  3. If you check and try to fill it make sure the cylinder is retracted and not extended. If you fill it when extended you will have too much oil in it when the rod retracts in the cylinder. Tom
  4. Nice fish Frank, I'm planning on trying to get out on Saturday again. Tom
  5. I saw the forecast for the wind direction and decided to go to the west shore for some in close trolling. Fished 13-15 fow between Linwood and Pinconning and was lucky to take five and one big sheep the water temp was 67-69 degrees speed was 1.1 to 1.5. It sure didn't look that bad this morning when I stopped to Frank's to get bait but once on the water was a different story. I only caught fish when I trolled into the wind, chartreuse and red beads with a Happy Hooker copper backed blade was the better color with a 1 ounce bb 20 ft back on the inline board. I was in my little boat today so the waves always seem bigger when you are closer to the water. The other color was orange and black beads with a orange, chartreuse and black chrome back blade right behind the boat on a 1 ounce bb 20 ft back. I was lucky enough to get off the water before it really started to blow. Tom
  6. Won't take many of those fish to fill a freezer. Way to go, you guys are getting me wound up to try for the silvers. I haven't fished the west side in 20 years but it sure gets me fired up to see fish like that. I'll make it over that way one of these days. Tom
  7. That must have been a nice change of pace to use the in line boards.
  8. Dinner last night was:good::good: The boys wanted me to jump in with them but didn't have my suit and told them someone has to stay in the boat and make sure a rope is out for them. I'm sure it was refreshing. Tom
  9. The boys loved that part. They didn't want to get back in the boat, sure is nice to be young and care free. Thats the first time I could talk them into swimming off the boat and then when they got into the water they didn't want to stop. Tom
  10. Yeah I was working on it. Its awful strange to go out on the bay in mid August and get fish, as you know this is salmon time and usually the walleyes seem to go away and hide. Tom
  11. We fished east side of the channel between the spark plugs and about 2-3 miles east 25-27 fow. We had four fish in the boat by 9:30 but then it slowed down. All meat and all colors worked for us today. We ended up with 6 walleys one throw back and a 9 inch perch. Those bait stealing perch were driving me crazy. Water temp was 71-72 and there were a bunch of boats out this morning. Oh yeah speed was 1.5-1.8 here is a picture of two of my keepers:
  12. Good job Frank going to try it again on Friday with the boys. Don't know where yet but weather permitting we'll be on the water somewhere. Tom
  13. Good Job Frank, I'll be up one day this weekend. Tom
  14. Way to go Frank keep on them. Tom
  15. Good job Adam. I tried Q-see yesterday afternoon for some shallow water fish. We ended up with one keeper, one cat and one sheep. We started in 9 fow and ended up in 14 fow mostly drifting with harnesses and bottom bouncers. Tom
  16. Can't beat fishing and getting a check for it too! Way to go Adam.
  17. I know what you mean it seemed like it was laying down so I decided to head into the waves and it was tough and really hard when we got a triple on and the two boys were sleeping in the cuddy. That left my buddy to get the rods and drive the boat into the wind, it wasn't pretty my buddy had two rods and I think he was driving with one foot on the wheel and one on the floor.
  18. Yeah that was me I saw you in your usual spot then you made a move and i tried to call you later and you were going in. Tom
  19. Good job Frank we ended up with 15, 11 keepers and 4 throwbacks and a bunch of misses. I sure wasn't expecting it to be that rough yesterday. We had our best luck 30-35 fow with purple and hammered chrome blades. It started slow for us and I swear it looked like the boats stretched from Pt Lookout to Pt AuGres, man there were a bunch of boats out yesterday I can't image what today looks like.
  20. Good job Adam on the fish and good luck with the boat I hope its a quick and easy fix.. Now is not the time to be having boat problems. Tom
  21. Frank I got a crew together for Friday so I'll be out there. We should be there around 8:00 am Tom
  22. They need to give you a reserved parking spot, I hope they have someone in the booth. Good job Frank now can you post that the best breakfast is at H&H that should get you a free lunch or something, but then you'd be waiting in line there too. Tom
  23. Good job Frank wish I could have been with you, but you know the story. I might have a crew for Friday but not sure will let you know. Tom
  24. Tried Thomas Rd and got one before we got blown off. I was in my little boat with the two boys. We started fishing about 2 and came in around 4:30. Harnesses and 1 oz inline caught the fish. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/files/7/8/3/100_1792.jpg' alt='100_1792.jpg'>
  25. Good job Frank, I'll give you a call hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Tom
