  1. As part owner of this boat, this disgusts me. The DNR took our license money, bought out the commercial guys and handed over the gear to the tribal fisherman. Then they set a stellar example by sinking boats at the docks (this is not the first time), losing nets, not pulling them on time, routinely blowing through quotas, and laundering several hundreds of thousands of pounds of illegally caught fish (some years nearly 20% of the catch) through "legal" agents. Goid Ole Levi, was it a broken foot that kept you away from your boat, or the fact that you were in jail for buggering a minor? These were explanations from his past screw ups...
  2. We have three cars for two of us. Truck for truck stuff gets about 3k a year. Wife ferries kids around in a Jeep. I can steal either to tow. I drive a focus as I log 70-100 miles a day. If one pukes we just cycle in another until I can fix it get it fixed. As for cost the 100k focus replaced replaced a 228k escort, the jeep has been with us 17 years, and the truck was given to us as a favor to settle a debt.
  3. Only hit 100' from pulling lines. Red heads and steelhead, two of my favorites. image:13440
  4. I tied in a short section of braid. Back to back uni knots for braid to mono. Tie an overhand knot in the wire, run the braid through it, uni knot the braid around the wire then cinch up the overhand knot. Or if it will fit through your guides a small Spro swivel.
  5. Pretty much no 2-3 year old kings in the lake. Lots of 1 year old fish and a good bait hatch, so optimism for recovery of the bait.
  6. Any update? Would be glad to help set up the night before.
  7. I have beat the crap out of my Sea Nymph. Still doesn't leak a drop. The older two strokes run forever. Mine's been in the shop twice in 21 years, once packed full of silt from chasing a crippled duck into no man's land, the other to replace a fitting and tune the carb. Get enough motor. You can run bags to slow down but you can't do much to speed up. I love my 14 but for what you listed a 16 would be better.
  8. Looks better now. And loading pictures is crazy easy.
  9. Pretty fish. Not so sure about the gloves..
  10. Nice job. I was at the fisheries meeting in Ludington thinking the whole time I'd rather be fishing than talking about it
  11. Not sure i want to. Work blocks this site so i have to use my phone, and the new format looks like a three year old put it together on my disply I get a migraine just trying to navigate. Spacing all messed up, icons look like they were puked on the screen, with people's avatars on top of the title of the thread so i cannot access the thread without zooming in twice. Not tomention i type about six words, shead oof the display so i have to go back and wait and correct.
  12. New log in. E mail has changed and new website does not auto log in. Same old passive aggressive Far Beyond Driven. Fished Port Sheldon in honestly the roughest stuff I've fished my 14' in before. Not the worst I've seen, but there was no trough to ride in. And of course we nailed a 7# steel on a magnum mongoose stinger on a one color. Dinner in hand we rode them through the channel hitting an 8# pike at the narrows on a red thin fish. Weird. Buddy is having pike nuggets, shrimp and steel, and venison back strap tonight. Hopefully while toasting the lake being kind to idiots this time.
