Steve We use the 32# for everything up to 300', then go to the 45# for deeper late summer kings. The 32# sinks at a rate on aprox, Length X 0.2. So that 300' 32# will go about 60' down. (300 X 0.2= 60') Speed, current, and what you are pulling play into that, but it's a good starting point. Blood Run also picked up a line of Braid, and has it reasonable priced right now (it is not made in china ether).

I have four Shimano Talora rods. Two 8-0" for the wire, and 2 8'-0 for the riggers. These are by far our favorite rods to pull fish in on.

I have logged over 100 trips on Muskegon Lake for Walleye, totaling over 575 hours. We have caught over 465 fish in that time, but when I go back and look at the records, I see all of our worst nights have been when the sky is clear and the wind is calm (classic high pressure). Walleye are extremely pressure sensitive. I have seen pictures in books where scuba divers where touching lethargic Walleye that where laying on the bottom post front conditions. It's too bad we couldn't have hooked up when we where in Whitehall. We had some nice fish too share then. I will try to get you out next year Robert.

A Barometer reading of 30.3 means the Walleye lay on the bottom with lock jaw, but we decided to try it any how. Like every other boat out there we got skunked, but the sunset was worth it.
