  1. Jake said the certified weight came in at just over 33#.
  2. Derick, welcome to the site. Your location would help. Aaron at Lakeshore Outfitters could help you also.
  3. There where a lot of Ludington boats fishing the 200' range. We worked out there for a long while, but never got any hits. We came back to 140, and started getting fish again.
  4. It has slowed down up and down the coast lately. Nice job guys.
  5. Most of the time you can find fish in that 40-60' zone. Quite often that Blood run will have more like 1,100' on it. 2 at 250, is a must. Than go with a 300, and a 200. That will cover 40-60' down.
  6. My Brother asked me to come up and fish the mini PSA event with him. Pentwater is such a cool town, I had to say yes. We fished a spread of 4 divers, 1 rigger, and 1 300' copper. Low divers, and rigger had white paddles, and poofster type flies. One high diver had a Moonshine Green jeens, and the other had a paddle and fly. We ended the day with 8 fish landed and some getting off. The copper was dead, but the paddles where working. We started in 130 fow, North of port and work our way out to 200 fow. All of our fish where in the 135-145 depth, and the target zone was 120-135 down. We fished in front of the Project most of the morning.
  7. When I have fished the Mackinaw area, we fished on the St Ignace side. If you launch from the public launch, got straight out to 70-90 fow and troll west. The bottom drops off very fast up there, so that depth is only 1/2 mile out. This time of year flashers/flies, plugs, and mag Moonshine will work.
  8. I believe they got the fish in 170 fow, on a White Paddle and Mirage type fly at 140' down. The weight on 3 different scales was 31+ pounds.
  9. I believe that color is not much of an issue. Try lengthening the leader on your divers out to 8'. Also, this time of the year run a flasher fly on them.
  10. This 45" laker ended up coming in at 33#+change. (this is Jake) The 14 year old boy standing on the side in the original picture was the one that caught this monster fish. Unfortunately his dad could not be on the charter trip with him due to work obligations. The kid and his family members as well as Capt. Jim were all overwhelmed by the size of the fish. I am happy to say that the fish will be appreciated on a the boys wall, as well as a Master Anglers Certificate. The fish will be sent to the DNR before mounting for history and background do to the clipped fin. Congratulations to Capt. Jim Bard, Mate. Jake Janeschek, and everyone abord the It-Il-Do, on this moster Lake Trout.
  11. I'm still old school and go without (and we get plenty of fish). I do have a Fish Hawk Td though.
  12. For those of you that don't know, my son Jake has been mating this summer on the boat "It Ill Do" in Grand Haven's Chinook Pier. He called me today and said they go a 30# laker. He did not have time to talk, and it has not been certified yet, but regardless it is one slob Laker. I grabbed the shot from face Book that his friend posted, and will confirm the exact weight later. I do not know any of the exact details other than it was on there evening trip, and he called me around 5:30 pm.
  13. Jim, I herd the fish are in shallow, and up high:D:D
