  1. Fished South Haven both Friday pm, and Saturday am. Was 6 for 6 on Friday, and 8 for 8 on Saturday. Of the total only 2 where silver fish, and the rest being Lake trout. A couple big trout Friday, but most where of the smaller verity. We released all the lakers friday, and kept just 3 Saturday. The 2 silver fish where very small also. The best area was in front of the power plant in 45-55 fow. Spinies, and spoons took fish.
  2. Thanks for the advise guys.
  3. I have been up there 3 of the last 4 years, and can not recall ever being asked if anyone was a felon. The trip up there (fly in trip) is not about the fish. It's simply gorgeous country, and a great time with friends.
  4. I am going to Canada this June with a group of guys. One of the guys in the group has a DWI on his record. I have herd that Canada dose not let persons that have a Dwi on there record across the boarder. Dose anyone know how much they check for this at the border, or should we just tell him not to even try?
  5. Welcome Pat. Nice looking ride.
  6. Steve and I had the bright idea to head down to the Detroit river Sunday afternoon. We launched out of Whyandotte around 3pm, and fished up river till dark. Steve ended up only getting 1 Walleye around Mud Island. Darn wind was hollowing down the river making boat control, and comfort a real pain. The highlight of the evening was just before dark when I hooked and landed a 4' Sturgeon. The fish jumped out of the water about 2 feet in front of me when first hooked, than proceeded to run up and down the river. My 17' Seanymp has a 80 lb thrust Minkota, and I needed all of it to keep up with the fish as she ran up and down the river. After a great fight we got her to the top and released her boat side. Sorry, but I did not have the camera equipment along, and it was a bit dark for the cell shots. We tried fishing down river this am, but the 40 deg temp a 20 mph wind blowing down the river made it less than fun for us.
  7. Very nice Brian. Welcome aboard.

  10. The fishing has not been as good the last few years, and a lot of guys are not out there as much ether.
  11. The boat looks lonely out there. Nice work on the fish.
  12. Sweet. Thanks for sharing.
  13. I have a set up a lot like yours. I have a battery mounted to the trailer that power's the winch. I also have a power feed from the truck that feeds to the battery so it always is at full charge, and the winch can draw from there if needed. When I launch my winch has a knob to loosen to let the cable out. I always let the boat roll down then take my foot to push some more cable out. I then hook the cable to a place on the trailer so it's fully extended when retriving..
