  1. Way to get it don Tim, Tom and crew. Where did you place in the tourney Tim?
  2. Terry, it was nice to meet you, and great job on the Kings.
  3. We arived at Fishermans Landing around 7pm Friday and quickly made camp and set sail to the lake. The night started slow for us as we went out to 80' (way past the fish). We got to see a great Sun Set and ended the night 2 for 4. Both fish where landed an hour past dark, coming in on the moonshine super glows Saturday morning brought the sound of wind to the camper, so we decided to sleep in a bit. Did not set lines till 9 am north of the peer in 45' We hooked up right off the bat and landed a nice 15 pounder. Fish #2 and 3 came at noon as a dbl. header (Yea, 3 hours of nothing then two at once). Two more nice kings We landed one more soon after and picked it in at 1 pm, ending 4 for 4 . Saturday afternoon brought lots of wind and very bumpy lake conditions. We started at the peer and went straight into them due North. we picked up our first fish in 50' with the Sigs Fly back 100' on the high diver. we stayed on the North troll and picked away at them going 4 for 5. Sunday am brought calm seas. We started at 7 am in 45' with the same north troll. The first rod fired as i was setting the second one. The action stayed good till 9 am, as by then we had 7 in the box as well as loosing one other. The 1/2 core with the Night Crawler was th best set up taking 3 fish. 45-50 fow was great early. the down temp was 44 deg. at 40 feet down. I should have kept a log as remembering all the things that took fish remain a blur. Thanks to Mike (ghf) for the advice to use dikes to chop the fingers of any one that tighten the drags. Loose drags brought the landing percentage way up. Ken
  4. Every thing like above. If you're short on space run only two lead and 4 dippseys and 2 riggers with stackers.
  5. Try this. http://forums.iboats.com/index.php
  6. Welcome Aboard dcralston. All of the above is good info. The best way is to know guys in the loop. Read as many reports as possible. I see you're from Grand Rapids so, any report from Holland to Muskegon should help. I usually will motor out into the waves then turn and troll with them to get started. If you ask for general info on the radio, most guys will answer. We fish in the evening most of the time also. If you here us on the radio give us a call. Good luck. Ken.
  7. Nice job Tim, Tom, and crew.
  8. Does the ss wire line get week as it ages?
  9. This is the method I've been using and, It's failed on me twice this year. I retie it after every trip and it failed on a big king last weekend. I'm going to try the crimp/sleeve method. Every time it fails it's good buy Flasher/fly/mag dippsey/snubber/bb swivel/fish.
  10. It's great to have Kids on board. Keep up the good work Terry.
  11. Sounds like the Kids had fun. Nice job on getting the out there.
  12. Nice job on the fish Mark. Welcome to the site.
  13. I threaten my crews with a set of side cutters. If anyone thumbs a spool or tightens a drag, they are going to loose a finger or thumb. I think this may need to be implemented on Team Nailer. Thanks for the advice Mike.
  14. Great report Jim. The one charter I went on, the captain sharpened the hooks after every fish. Even brand new hooks can use a little filling. A few years back we where having issues with loosing fish from the riggers. A charter captain told me to switch to the Blacks Releases. It has helped our hook up ratio a bunch.
  15. Nice job wit, We had that same issue with the fish just coming unbuttoned.
  16. Looks like a happy bunch of guys there! Great catch Captain.
  17. My cousin from out of town, my son, and I hit the water about 6 pm. Set up in 100'. Ended the night 5 for 10. Wire diver 200 back with the Mountain dew spinner/ fly accounted for 4. Copper with a Moonshine Brook Trout took the biggest @ 15 pounds. Monkey Puke down 80' off the rigger had 3 and Moonshine (the spoon) got 1. We fish pretty much straight out and, stayed in the 100-110 range. We had a very big one on the wire diver with the 12" coyote flasher and a Sigs Rig Mountain Dew fly, She took out 100+ feet of line. My cousin tightened the drag a bit, the fish did a big dive and broke the wire good by Flasher/fly/mag dipsey/fish. There was a storm 20 miles off shore that kind of fell apart. before it fell apart my sons hair was standing straight up, and the antenna was sizzling.
  18. Nice job Jim. If all goes well and I get my work finished Team nailer will try it out of Holland Friday (I don't feel like fighting the Grand Haven Festival crowd that launches at Port Sheldon).
  19. when running spinnies ie: Spin Doctors, what hole do most of you use? In the past I have always left it in the hole it came hooked to (the fin side). As August approaches and the fish get more aggressive would it be wise the use the faster action hole? Or is this just some thing you change around according to the bite pattern? Ken.
  20. Now that just plane too cool!
  21. I have a camp site reserved for Friday and Saturday night. How many more are staying at the campground? I have a Black 4 door Chevy Duramax with a truck camper on it. If any one will be around and would like to say hi, feel free to stop by. We'll have a few frosty ones one ice and am glad to share our vast (or lack there of) fishing expertise;). Ken.
