Ya know Robert, sometimes ya just got to lay down the law;) If my wife had any idea how much I have into fishing equipment, she would shoot me. Good luck with your endeavor.

I agree with most of the above, COT is not a fun car to watch. Make all these races a 20 lap shootout and we may get somewhere. As far as little E goes, He should of turned Vickers when he went to block him. Nascar has become nothing more than a sponsor billboard.

The opportunity presented it self to got to Florida last week, so I jumped on it. I had big plans to fish with my Uncle. Cold windy weather at the start of the week, and boat failure when the weather improved limited us to shore fishing:(. Shore fishing was not very good, so I got the camera out. I got a shot of this Osprey with a nice catch she got. Here's a few of the other Birds that where hanging around. As you can see in all of these shots, the sky was; BLUE, BLUE, BLUE. 10 days of blue sky's and open water really helps the attitude. Ken

Robert, reread Billy V's post, He claims a 3.5 to 1 ratio (on the out diver) 200/3.5= 57' You will learn. troll around in 40 fow and let the diver out on a tight rod till it hits bottom. Wright it down. When we set up, one diver goes back say 100' and the opposite side diver goes back 140'. If nothing goes we start letting them back more. If the one at 100' goes the we shorten up the long one. Just remember summer Salmon tend to be high in the water column first and last light. Then deeper as the light increases. Start the predawn with 100' then as it gets lighter go back as far as 200+ feet.

My first time I was 18 years old with a 14' boat, 7.5 hp merk, two home made riggers, a few cool ones, and a good friend, on Muskegon Lake. 12 hours of trolling and no fish, but we did get to watch 100's being netted. That was 29 years ago. Only get serious about it 12 years ago.

Thank for all the reply's guys. As far as the NBK go's, It's a lure I've put many-many miles on with out much luck. I bought two of them back when they where hot. I bet I have at least 20 hours of down time with them, with only a fish or two. That being said, and with so much good response from all of you, back in the box it go's. Every year at the Grand Rapids Fishing show, I stop by the manufactures table and let them pick out there favorites/best sellers (I buy 3 or 4 from them). the trouble I have is, when we get to fishing 3 months later I forget what lures they said where good. This year my boy says we should keep a log book on the boat (I think he may have a good point there). I'm going to make notes of the suggestions and give all a try this year. Thanks to all. Ken.

What method did you use Frank? and where did you get it? I have a bunch of dw and nk lures that the paint fell off from.

What is your current setup? What area do you fish out of? If I was going to start from scratch I would start with; 2 riggers (if you need to you can stack two poles on each rigger), Then I would get two braid diver poles, Then I would start investing in the core/copper poles, next two wire diver poles. I believe, braid diver poles with flasher/fly are the best all around money spent when fishing for salmon. Core is great, but you are limited to the depth it will go. You can run a braid dive any where from 10-100'

Ok, so my boy and I are bored. We washed and dried all the spoons in my box. We sorted out all our favorites and set them aside. These are the ones that are left over and rarely get ran (It's mostly a confidence thing). While I have tried all of these at some point, most where not given a fair shake. Take a look at them and tell me if you see any that are must run spoons. My box is overflowing and I need to thin it down. Thanks, Ken.

With out reading the other post, this is what I would do: Turn Northwest off the pear, and head to 50 fow. If I could only run 6 poles I would put 1/2 core/inline planer with a spoon to the inside, next High Diver/flasher/fly (green)back 75' next, Inside rigger would have a spoon set down to 35', outside rigger would be spoon set to 45', second high diver would be flasher/fly (blue) back 100' then outside full core/inline planer with a Jplug or spoon. I would run a zig zag pattern into the waves. Whatever went first, I would make adjustments to the others. If I could run more poles, I would run two more riggers and vary the depths. We typically run just a king setup. I should note though, this is assuming I didn't have a probe. Now that I do have the probe, I would look for that cold water and fish it.

FYI to the op. A color represents 10 yards (each 30' section is colored different), and a copper rig is similar to core but it is copper line. The same amount of copper will go down aprox 1.5X deeper than core.
