  1. I cant wait for that feeling here. My lake still has a bunch of ice on it.
  2. They look nice. What do you plan to run off them? Most guys in our area run inline boards with there lead core. There are a few still that like the big boards though. They should run good for you though.
  3. Mike, you should add it to the "web cams" link page.
  4. Robert, You should try and get a few contacts in the area you fish (was it T.C.) If you get in good with a few fisherman in your area, you just find out where the temp break is and go from there. I've been doing this 20+ years, and last year was the first with a probe. If you fish in the west Michigan area I'd be glad to give you my number.
  5. No scientific study for me, but when I look at the satellite shots for the great lakes there's a lot of ice still. 6. It sounds like the biomass need a stimulus package from the government;) I hope the fishing doesn't end up like our economy in Michigan
  7. Sure is nice to see open water. Thanks Dan.
  8. That's why we did so bad there last fall .
  9. I for one will help any one I can, and I'm not afraid to ask for help either. When I do ask, I first will ask "are you are willing to help me out", then return with the questions. I rarely if ever ask a Charter Caption though. (This is how you make your living) When asking for help you need to be as polite as you can. Asking for exact locations is a no no. When asking for help it's not a bad idea to offer some sorta compensation (lunch, a package of cool ones, or even a few of there favorite lures). Keep up the good work Dan.
  10. We lost a good one in Paul. May he rest in piece. He had a good life. He can now go do Gods word with his wife.
  11. Your story is not the only one I've heard that happen. Cutting dead trees is always dangerous. I wish you well in your recovery.
  12. This should get you fired up. These guys are great. http://www.gettinghooked.net/Episode_08_2009.html
  13. thanks for clearing that up. Min. 20", no max. for us.
  14. This is where i got it from @ mich.gov/dnr 2008 I may be interpreting it wrong.
  15. After reading the rules and regulations for next year, I discovered something I was not aware of. Lake Trout have a minimum size limit of 20" and a maximum size limit of 23" (in regards to the area from Leelanau South). One can be kept over 34", with a daily possession limit of 3. We normally do not target Lake Trout, so I never really payed attentions to the rules. This is a very small slot limit for lakers, It would be a good idea to keep a ruler on board if you plan to keep them.
  16. I dare bet even though we cant see the glow after 10 minutes, they are still giving off UV light that the fish can see. Welcome aboard. Same to you Haw7 of 7.
  17. I have caught Salmon on this type of rig behind a flasher.

I just got off the phone with my Cousin in law from the Eastern UP. He says the snow is still 3' deep with a low of -10 f tonight. At least here in West Mi. the snow is mostly gone.
  19. Considering most harnesses have 15+ pound line on them, Is light line even an issue?
  20. Welcome Sean! Do you fish Salmon out of Munising? It' a beautiful area.
  21. I've done just that for Walleye fishing on Muskegon lake since 11/20/00 I've logged 73 trips. It dose help, but salmon fishing seams quite a bit easier and not so precise. I thought of doing it just so I could give better reports, but then I snap open a frosty one and forget all about it.
  22. Don, you used up all your winnings last year in the wmfl tourneys.
  23. The 6-8 times we used them last year, we maby got 1 fish? I'm not sold on them. The best method out there to getting fish, is to fish where the fish are;)
  24. Great Video, One thing that should be noted; To all of you that are new to diver fishing. Watch this video, each time before the rod comes out of the holder, the drag gets loosened up a bit. This is a great thing to do when fishing with no stretch line (wire or braid)
