  10. Welcome aboard Lee, Post a picture of your boat if you can. Sport crafts are nice rigs. The nice thing of taking a kid fishing is; Mom never says no to it.
  11. WOW! Terry and crew. 23 for 35, Did you install some sorta fish magnet on the Dirty Dog. One heck of a nice looking Brown there. Good luck tomorrow, I wish I could be out there by ya, but the girls have a ball tournament.
  12. Rich, I always enjoy your post, Great to get the young one's out. Nice pictures also.
  13. I have a Honda 9.9 kicker on my boat. My transom is big enough for it to mount there. The only issue I had was, the choke port was plugged when I got it. A good carb cleaning fixed that. These motors have an accelerator pump on them (like you old carbed cars). When they are cold, you need to pump the handle like you used to pump your gas pedal. Other than that they are great motors. Mine will troll 12-15 hours on a 2 (or is it 2.5?) gallon tank.
  14. I have the same troubles. This year I told my son,(on one trip) where leaving all of our favorites home, and only bringing the lures we don't use.
  15. Sounds great Steve. The web site looks nice.
  16. Great job with with you boy and wife. DC is a very interesting place to visit. Have you ever been to Dundee store? It's quite a place. I've been there 4 times, and am so in aw that I rarely buy any thing. Enjoy.
  17. Welcome aboard Steve. Looking back, we should of fished down river. I am not a fan of big crowds, and non stop snags though. Nice job on the two though.
  18. 38 pounds:eek: The best I've got in Lake Mi. is 1/2 that. I bet your boy there's a bit bigger now. Welcome aboard.
  19. My 19' Cresliner is some where in the mid 70's with a 77 115 Evenrude on her. My cousins boat is a 65 Slick Craft. Both boats are rock solid, and strong. We keep thinking of upgrading, but then why? Stile points don't catch fish:D.
  20. I think you'll like you investment. I just ordered some 19 strand. Where did you get yours?
  21. The love of fishing for me is , the adventure of it. The excitement builds in the week leading up, you get up at 4am drive 2.5 hours, and head out. I love fishing just for these reasons, it keeps you young, gives you stories, and yes get's you off the couch.
  22. Nice job on the Ho, Ho guys.
  23. The weatherman said 6-11 mph and 45 deg. It never topped 38 deg. coupled with 25 mph wind gust made Walleye fishing near impossible. I was invited to come and fish the river with an old friend. Who can say no to a day off work and Walleye fishing on the Detroit in April? We met him at the Trenton lighthouse at 7am, and put in nearby. Fished mainly up river from there, all the way up past Cobo hall. With the wind ripping down the river like a wind tunnel, stained water, and just plane nasty conditions, a Skunk should have been in the works. Friend Tom averted that with one nice 3 pound fish. After 5 hours of fighting wind, waves, and soaked clothing/gloves, we decided to call it a day. While I had big plans of showing you all a big stringer of fresh Walleye, Instead this was all I got on our way back down stream (with the waves). I'm ready for warm air!
  24. Tom, it's really no different than tying an overhand knot, pushing through eyelet, put snap through loop, and pull tight. http://www.lotsa.org/Wire%20Line%20Knot.htm I just ordered some 19 strand 30 pound test wire to replace aging wire.
  25. So soon we'll get to see some of those monster lake O's Kings? Going down this week to Neils to trade in two of the old Walkers on the new high speed models.
