  1. I've got high quality roller rods.
  2. I have not had and issues at all with my 19 strand Torpedo Wire. I really like it compared to the 7 strand that I took off. 1000' is the way to go.
  3. I found a Pic from our last trip out of Muskegon. The boys took the shot, so I forgot it was even on the camera. One of Jacobs all time favorite lures, with dad holding the fish. Here's one I took in South Haven a few week back. Also one on how we pin our sliders on.
  4. Great report, very fun to read.
  5. Are you sure it's the starter, not the solenoid? There's one for the neutral switch and one on the starter.
  6. Robert, I have been Salmon fishing on and off for close to 30 years. I have yet to land a 20 pound fish. Congrats! On a side note, when the fish are deep, run your divers on the 1.5 setting to get then down. A diver on the 3 setting will max out from the resistance of the line. 200 feet back on the 1.5 setting with a mag ring would get you close to 90-100 feet down. 100 down on your diver would complement that 150 rigger nice. Again great job, and enjoy Ludinton.
  7. Nice job out there Jay. Any fish Porn of the 23?
  8. Lots of smiles there Andy. Nice Job.
  9. Great job on the trout there. That Brown is a butty
  10. Ok then are the others around you catching fish? It's not likely to be your fish finder. Turn your graph off and see if it helps. I know exactly where your coming from though. It's great being the one catching, and really sucks being the other guy.
  11. My guess, when people have trouble getting Salmon when others around them are is; Speed. If you go out and see a big porcupine (Boat with lots of poles), mimic his speed and trolling direction. Pay close attention to the lines out the back of your boat. They should be going straight back, not off to one side. Cutting cross current causes the poles to go to one side and reduce the action. A caption told me once: Salmon, like trout face into the current, so trolling into the current is best.
  12. I remember a few years back, if you didn't have a Bloody Nose of some sort down, you weren't fishing. My favorite lure back then was a small White Flasher (yea a metal one) with a red and white fly on the deep rigger. Now I can't even remember the last time I've used Red and White of any thing. Is it just me? Are a few of you sticking the Bloody Nose down with any results? Or, is it that we have so many choices, we don't have time to stick down the old reliable? Just something to think about on a rainy day while my wife takes a nap.
  13. Welcome to the site Ryan. Small boat fishing is a blast. Did the big fish pull the boat around?
  14. Wow, they keep coming, and coming, and coming. Great year Frank.
  15. Sounds like a lot of action Nick. To bad they didn't all stay hooked.
  16. Personally I like the two day event. The one day double event really gives an advantage to the team that sets down on fish first thing in the am. Last year in the last Double event the whether was rough, and we really struggled getting our fish to the boat, along with multiple tangles. The only weekend date that is open for us is Sunday August 16. We will go along with what ever the majority decides though.
  17. I've got some uv paddles I keep trying, but no fish on them yet.
  18. Sounds like a great trip Tom. That 27 pounder must of brought in some high fives. Nice porn!
  19. Looks like all had fun. Nice catch there Don.
  20. Here's one thing to consider in the debate of Marine or treated plywood. The new process of treating wood (since 2002) uses Alkaline Copper Quartenary. The Alkaline Copper Quartenary will have a Galvanic Reaction and eat away at your Aluminum supports. I don't believe the Marine ply uses the Alkaline Copper Quartenary.
  21. Congrats to your brother. Great way to have a party UP style:beerchug:
  22. We also fished Muskegon Friday. Tried the skinny water in the am with out much luck, only going 1 for 2 with it being a nice king off the wire diver/spinner/fly back 70'. The full core took a nice rip and zipped off 100 feet of line before coming undone. The boat was way low on gas, so we had to run in early. Gassed back up an decided it was such a nice day we should fish more. This time we went out to 200 fow and re set up. Found a nice temp break 55-65 feet down. At about Noon the Full core with a magnum Confusion takes a nice fat Laker. Soon after the Copper with a kevorkian takes a second laker. As my cousin was fighting the second laker, the wire diver starts ripping line (200' back), landed that nice king. We had to run back in to Fisherman's Landing to meet some friends around 4 pm. After having a few hot dogs and helping them get set up, we went back out for the night bite. This time we set up in 200 feet again. Ended the night with 2 more nice kings, both on the wire diver back 140'. Same rig took another hit that didn't hook up. We ended the marathon day going 6 for 8, all the kings where in the 13-15 pound range. By far our best setup was the wire mag diver with a Wonderbread flasher and the Siggs Riggs Blue Dolphin Fly. shown here from a different trip.
  23. Nice talking to you out there Mark. Good job on the catch.
  24. Dave, a lot of guys jig the area called "the sand docks" in Muskegon Lake. It's safe, protected, and full of fish. A friend of mine has done it with his kayak and landed salmon.
