  1. OUCH! I don't like the sound of what the rep said.
  2. Mark, Welcome aboard. A wire diver with a mag diver on the 1.5 setting will run close to %50 of line out. 100' out=50' down. I bought some Herring strips and ran them from my low diver, but have not gotten a hit on them yet.
  3. If we hit fish, say a double +1 or 2 , we'll drop mark and try to make our way back to it.
  4. I had two open invitations to fish this weekend (one in Pentwater and one in Saugatuck). Of coarse with 3-5' wave the answer was no. Take a looks at this picture, and try to remember back what the lake is like. This was taken on a rare week day trip.
  5. There's a big difference fishing here in Lake Michigan than fishing where you are near the bridge. We don't have much structure. When we mark fish in 100 fow, we can go in and out 1/2 mile and not change our depth much. Up where you are that depth could change as much as a 100'. What we try to look for more often is big pods of bait fish, and stay around them. BTW Jason, we plan to fish St Ignace on the 3rd or 4th (or both) of September. Will you be around?
  6. Salmontime, Nice Catch! Big Tuna, welcome aboard.
  7. That's just the way it's been this year. Rough and Rougher. 6 hits at non peek times is darn good.
  8. Nice action. To bad they didn't all stay hooked.
  9. Drummond is a beautiful place. At least you got a few. Nice job.
  10. Nice job helping out a fellow boater Andrew. The Fish Gods will shine there Heavenly Lights bright on you.
  11. Jim, welcome to the site. The temp break on Saturday was 65' down in 110 fow. There's a good chance you where below them? I keep raising my stuff up into warmer water as it gets dark. Did you run any Moonshine spoons as the sun was setting? We got 2 fish on our high diver (back 150' set on 2.5) , and another on a full core (I doubt ether one was deeper than 50') Saturday as the sun was setting
  12. I used an Aluminum Shower curtain, and slipped it inside of mine. Makes it about 2' longer (just enough).
  13. I'm with the rest of them. Bring the fish in off the back of your boat. No need to pull lines. A long handle net is a must.
  14. Many consider the Fish Hawk x4 the best probe out there. They even say so themselves http://www.fishhawkelectronics.com/X4-Downrigger-System/26/ They do not use coated wire. The one thing I like with the Cannon is, it tells the depth it's running at. Last weekend i let out 90-95'' on the counter, and the probe was running at 68'. It also has a light % at the ball, but they stopped making them.
