  1. Have fun in the U.P. Peter.
  2. Great way to end the year Adam.
  3. Wouldn't Holland or Saugatuck be a better option? South Haven is a great little town though.
  4. What a great way to end the year. Not a lot of numbers, but a great day on the water. We set lines at 6:30 in 175 fow and headed West. Got a teenager before the sun came up, on a Flounder Pounder behind a diver back 100' set at 3. Next fish was a nice steel off a Carmel Dolphin slider set at 25' down. Then a steel got off the other diver. After she came off she jumped at least four times just to be a big show off ( I think I could even see her teeth as she was smiling at me). Later the Flounder Pounder took a third Steel. Lastly another small king was on the rigger. For the last two hours we went in to 100' to try and drag a king off the bottom, This did not work. The best water for us was 300' We fished 11 different ports this year, getting fish at all but two. Oddly enough the one port we didn't get fish at was White Hall (darn June bite). The other was Hessel, witch we only devoted a few hours to (when family calls and says meat and Potato's are on the table, it's time to leave) Now it's time to watch my boy play Football and wait for the November Walleye bite. Thanks to all that helped and/or gave advice this year. Ken.
  5. Sounds like the clients had a nice day. WTG.
  6. I did the same thing with cousin Ryan his first time out this spring.
  7. Very cool Rich. I bet he will still be smiling next year.
  8. Sounds like a nice night Jim.
  9. Nick, How many of us are in the big fish of the year contest? What is the big fish for the year? and who has it?
  10. Most likely the head gasket has failed in the area that goes from cylinder to water jacket. This type of failure will not dump much if and water into the oil, but will do like others said. Get a compression tester and check compression. An easy way to tell is, if theirs pressure in the cooling system.
  11. Way to go Andy and Family.
  12. That's a big WOW! I wonder how old it is?
  13. We got three and lost one Thursday am. Details here. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15087

  15. Great way to spend a day Jarod.
  16. A great day indeed.
  17. Wow! Nice story. They sound like some very angry fish.
  18. That's really amassing guys, how the fish shut down like that. After I left, John, Ryan, and two others went 8 or 9 for 18 on Tuesday night. Mostly on Moonshine spoons at dusk-11pm. For us on Monday, the Ace High plugs in the top 45' where smoking. We where South in 95-135 fow. Although we did pick a big boy up in 55 fow on a full core mid-day. Could be the fish moved up river. The guy at the fish cleaning station said the best catch he saw was from the lake troller's.
  19. We brought the boat's up to the Eastern end for the; annual weekend adventure, at my Aunts Resort. We fished St.Ignace Thursday am, and ended with 3 nice fish. All in front of the Municipal Marina in 75 fow. Sunday pm we made the trip over to Detour Chanel, and managed just one 15+ pound fish (It sure isn't like to used to be). A few shots over by the bridge. The limo, with John, Ryan, and crew. (The also got 2) And my motley crew.
  20. Good luck with your new toy Roger
  21. Good job again guys.
  22. We fished Ludington both Monday and Tuesday am. Finished 19 for 26+- The cores with Plugs where popping the best, with the 1/2 core taking honers. We also got fish on high divers back 120-140 and low divers down 80-100, both pulling spinners and fly's. Riggers set at 35-50' down contributed to the take. Mostly targeted fish South of port down through the project area at 85-135 fow. Mostly Adult fish (biggest topping out at 18 pounds) with a few teenagers and one Rainbow mixed in. A few shots. Now off to the Straights and Detour channel.
