  1. The true love is Walleye. Salmon is just a good reason to go fishing in the summer;) If we could only get Walleye to fight like Salmon:eek:.
  2. Yep, Barley Pop is a must.
  3. Those guys where under the water for quite a while. Burr!
  4. Yum Yum. Sounds like a blast Pete.
  5. 15 trips 89 walleye 395 pounds 4.44 pounds per fish avg.
  6. Neighbor John and I made the finale trip of the year to Muskegon Lake. The lake was flat calm, making the fish a bit spooky. We did manage 4 of them, including these two. This most likely will be the last trip for the year, as the water temp was down to 32.4 deg. and shore ice around all the shallows. Me with a 10 John with a 9
  7. We'll do what we can.
  8. Abu Garcia is closing out there Workhorse rods. I bought 6 of them for my core/copper lines. They are very nice and virtually indestructible. The add says Med. Heavy, and 9 eyelets, but they are Medium casting/rigger rods with 10 eyelets. Shipping was a bit steep @ $18.00 but still a great price. My understanding is, this site is a factory outlet site for Abu Garcia. Located here
  9. Thanks guys. I talked with the guys at Franks, and there going to meet me when the G.R. sports show is here. (there's a few other thing I need)
  10. Ok than, a tad bit pricey, but less than a new board. Do you still need to hook the rear clip to your line? Great reply's, thanks.
  11. In the past I was not that happy with there boards. Mainly because I didn't care for the clip/release system they had. I have 3 or 4 of them laying around. As I was walking around in Gander Mountain today, I discovered the OR18 replacement release. It appears to be a well engineered release, making removal a one handed move. Have many of you used this release?, and do you like it?
  12. See this link DNR I repeat, A lot of us like what the DNR does for this state, and get sick of people continually bashing them. End of story.
  13. Sorry but I don't hunt much if any, these days. The only photo I have is this one of Jacob 2 years ago.
  14. Robert, first off, this story has been floating around for quite some time, and likely not true. Secondly, if true, and they had the story out everywhere, what do you thing would happen? All the Tree and Bunny hug rs in Michigan would demand protection from the Feds. Then you would end up with the same thing you hate so much with the Wolves. Give the DNR a break! I, as well as most think they do a very good job. I would like to see a few more fishing reports from you, from that fine area you live in. Do you have any other photos from your fishing adventures? If so post them, Here If nothing else, go out and take a photo or two of the bridge during a blizzard. We would all like to see that.
  15. Very nice James. Well written and very well thought out. THANKS!
  16. And you didn't weigh it? Bad Steve.
  17. I found this video of these two guys catching some huge Walleye after dark. Enjoy. Night Eye's
  18. I fished: South Haven, Saugatuck, Holland, Port Sheldon, Muskegon, Whitehall, Pentwater, Luddington, St Ignace, Hessel, and Detour. As well as the Detroit and St Marys river for Walleye. So really only two of the great lakes. I would love to get to Lake O some day.
  19. That's how the Fish Dog guys did it back a few years. They went out of 2nd street. I'm sure I could talk Jacob into it.
  20. I'll say a prayer for you Dan;) I had one, and that was brutal.
  21. I believe this release will work for you . release
  22. Last week while doing some work for a local friend, we got to talking boats, and fishing. He used to have a big boat back in the 80's that he kept in Holland. He did a small amount of fishing back then, but no longer could. He asked if I wanted some of his old tackle. Um sure! Here's a few of the lures he had They bring back some memories.
