  1. A lot of juys use the 100' rule. IE 10' down 90' back, 80' down 20' back. Personally I'll run the deeper rigger 30' back, and the higher one 50' back, but I do not stack rods. With your small beam and running a flasher/fly and, you run a long lead, it will loop around and get into your other rods. When your up to Manistee, you will likely get some strong currents. Heavy current, long leads, stacked rods, and narrow beam = a big tangle.
  2. Run the flasher/fly back 10' or so. Stack the plug 10-15 above it and 20-30' back. You want the high line running behind the low line. Any fish that checks out the low line but, doesn't like it will soon have a second choice coming along.
  3. Great night to be out there. Nice job Mark, Sharon, and crew.
  4. Sweet! all on 4 rods. What kind of boat is that? It sure has high sides.
  5. We launched out of Holland around 6:30 and headed south to 120 fow to set up. The first fish came as we where setting up. A nice Steelhead on the rigger set down 62' on a JP Slammer NBK. We had a big long dry spell till the magic hour approached. In the last 1.5 hours of day light we managed to land 5 more. 300 copper with a MS spoon went twice, Wire diver/Wonder-bread flasher/watermelon sigs fly back 180 went once. Wire diver back 150/ blue bubble got a laker. Full core with a MS spoon also got one. All the fish came from 110-80 at dusk. The caption with his Jack Nickelson hair dew. The rest of the crew
  6. Steve, if you try this you could end up with a tangled mess. If your going to stack the riggers than, run your flasher/fly on the bottom rod, and the spoon or plug on the top rod. I agree with the others, Glow in low light rocks.
  7. Torpedo divers are a very good alternative to riggers. I have used them, and the work as described. link
  8. Mat, Welcome to the site. I like to glue and label my diver just to make it easy.
  9. Peter I noticed the same thing. When we fished Detour this spring, a high number of the fish we got had lamprey on them. The St. Mary's river is a big breading area for them. link to cam.
  10. How did I miss this great post. Nic job again on the night eye's.
  11. Is it the Nee Hi, or just two guys that know how to get fish? I think the later. Nice job guys.
