  2. I did not see this noted, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was required to have a Marine Radio whenever outside the shoreline of the Great Lakes.

  8. Rick, do you have any Moonshine spoons? If not, pick up a Double Trouble, and a Flounder Pounder in the original size and run those off your core. http://www.moonshinelures.com/colorchart.html It's a tough area your fishing up there. It only gets better from here on. It looks like (according to Google map) Frankfort is only 2 hours away. Why not try there. Manistee gets all the attentions, but Frankfort is no slouch.
  9. That's one heck of a pig Matt! What custom Pro-Troll was it? That Blue Dolphin Pulse Fly is a great fly.
  10. Rick, if I read your totals correctly than, you only have a total of 9 salmonoids in 5 trips. It looks like your fishing areas that don't hold a lot of fish? Percentage wise how dose the core compare to the other setups? Core really shines at low light times. Are you fishing those times? Core is not the end all, but rather an additional tool for taking fish.
  11. Dan, as far as the riggers go, It's nice to keep the back of the boat open for landing fish. Pointing the back riggers on a 45 deg angle off the back corners will help to open it up. Cores on boards is a must. An angry king coming up the back of you boat with a core fishing there makes a big mess. OffShore or Church Boards are what you want. Many say the new Zboards work well also. A rule of thumb on the fly leader is, 2.5-3 times the length of the flasher. Get your self a big net with a long handle.
  12. Like those two are small:grin: Nice job one some big Lake O fish.

  21. 5' pc of 40 pound mono will take care of that.
  22. After balling hay all week, we took Friday off to fish. We left the dock around 5:30 and headed out to 70fow. The first two fish came at 75', one on a full core Ace Hi plug, and the other off the rigger set at 45' moonshine Double Trouble. We took the next hour and a half off, and finely picked one up on the diver/siggs/flasher/fly combo. Dale with it We kept pecking away at the fish, following them out and down. The divers produced most of the fish after that. This rigg was the top producer, Both from Siggs riggs. The same fly (Siggs Mountain Dew Pulse Fly)on a green paddle also got two including this nice Steel. We ended the day going 10 for 13 with one throw back laker. I'm getting to old to remember the details of what worked. We started in 70 fow and got fish from there out to 135 fow, anywhere from 40' down (early) to 100' down late. The prize
  23. Could you ave picked a better day? WOW how sweet is that. I bet the BIL had a blast.
