  1. Nice way to start your season Larry.
  2. 45 pound copper will run roughly 2 time the depth core will. That 300' of copper will be 75-85' down. Pull a flasher and it will run high. Pull a plug and it will run lower. The 40' chart may be for 30 pound copper? Your 150 copper will run 40' +- down, very close to a full core.
  3. Sounds like a great time. I bet they had a ball.
  4. I'll trade Grandma some Salmon for home made goodies whenever she wants.
  5. Sat. AM was a tough bite. If you found a pod, they came in a hurry. If you didn't there was a lot of slow time. Better luck next time Gary.
  6. Them boys look a little Red!
  7. I see there's a bunch of cold water stacked up on your side of the pond. That sure make for some fine fishing.
  8. That twilight bite is great right now. Nice job Jimmy.
  9. Shorter rods for the low diver. 8' is nice, but the 7's will work.
  10. Now that's a report! Nice job putting together a fine program Rich.
  11. Like the other guys I tested these two spoons. NBK and Glow Fire Dog I put the NBK down on a rigger, and had this nice Steel in the first 10 minutes of using it. (sorry for the bad hair day) On a second trip Jacob landed a nice King on the same lure. We ran these two spoon with a combination of other rigs, with no better or worse results. The 4 times we fished them, the flasher and flys where dominating our catch. The quality of these spoons is top notch. They have sticky sharp hooks that don't need sharpening. I will keep running them, as there is no doubt they perform as well as any spoon out there.
  12. WOW! That's a Pig! Great looking lake.
  13. Sounds like the lakers where hungry. Good job Mike.
  14. Dave the bags work very good. Check out this post or this one. Dicks bags are what we run. The cost about $80 for two. You may want to try the bucket trick first. 2.5-3.0 sog is a good place to run.
  15. Nice job Big Jim. That should make for a few fine dinners.
  16. Sounds like a great way to end the open water season.
  17. He looks very happy. Nice Steel also.
  18. Welcome to the site Matt.
  19. Ya got to do battle wit a few bigins thought. Sounds like fun.
  20. As far as numbers go Kevin and I got seven, and that was tops. The early predawn bite was very good for a bunch of guys. You can see all the catches here.
  21. We fished the WMFL event this morning. We didn't get to start where we wanted to this morning due to the fact the lower unit was loaded with weeds, thus making the boat cavatate when we went to power up. Thinking we had spun the prop, we just set up out front and went slow. We started in 70 fow and headed sw. We skunked straight through the first light bite, but things picked up as we headed out to 95 to 100 fow. We got 5 fish in that range with Moonshine spoons taking 3 and a mountain dew spinny/fly taking two. Later in the day we did get a few small ones out in 140 fow, but never did really get a solid program going. Ended going 7 for 10. The three that didn't hook up well acted like lakers.
  22. Haven't seen those flashers in a while. Nice job Roger and wife.
  23. Sounds like an exciting night Mark & Katrina.
