  1. Great looking fish Jonas. Thanks for sharing.
  2. In case you didn't know, Slickcraft was the predecessor to Tiara and Pursuit boats. A very solid boat, and made in Holland Michigan. The SS 23.5 is a great platform and will keep you safe in some nasty seas. Welcome aboard, and fell free to ask if you need anything.
  3. Sounds like a great way to spend the morning Dave.
  4. The 32# is .030 dia. I switch over after I lost my 300 Howie's supper to the bottom of the lake. The 350' 32# fit's on the reel better (Penn 330gti), and still gets me down where the fish where.
  5. Steve, Make sure the copper rods have nice big eyelets. Get a roll of 1000' 32#. When you get the need to set up two long copper, you will already have it. Rather than keep buying rods, I started to just swap reels on the existing rods. Penn 330 gti will hold 350' of 32# copper with about 1000' of braid backer. This setup will run about 70' down. Blood run also has diver wire. I use it on my high divers with out any issues.
  6. Great shots Adam. What a fantastic way to spend your time in the outdoors.
  7. Great shots Gordy. What camera/lens are you using?
  8. Thanks for sharing. They really look great.
  9. Yep, tighten the spool tension a tad, let 20-30' out then let it free spool. It dose not backlash no where near the amount 45# dose, very similar to core, but is stronger, more forgiving, and deeper. Long coppers really shine during the sunny part of the day, when the fish settle towards the bottom.
  10. Kyle, have you used the 32# supper yet? Imo it is as easy as core. The 45# is a pain though. The biggest pain with copper is when the knot goes through the guides.
  11. This will change as you get to know them better. I love my divers (all 4 of them), simply because they catch fish! Welcome to the site Adam. How far out is 225 fow on the west side of the pond?
  12. Steve the diver will dive faster on a 2 setting. faster yet on a 1 setting. 124 mag divers will dive about %50 of line out on a 1 setting and around %33 (1 to 3 ratio) of line out on a 2.5 setting. This year we got a bunch of fish on our 250, and 350 copper (runs about 70-80 feet down). A good way to gain depth is to run a plug on the copper, and loose depth with a flasher/fly. Copper is a great tool to add this year. Check out Blood Run Tackle. They are local and good. The 32 pound copper is the easiest to use.
  13. Sadder yet was that his daughter was on the boat with him. She tried to rescue him, but failed.
  14. Thanks for all the great reports Jim. Nice rig Jarod.
  15. HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - The fully-clothed body spotted by a beachwalker Tuesday north of the Holland State Park has been confirmed as Thomas Anzivino, 24 Hour News 8 learned Wednesday. Anzivino is a 55-year-old who fell off his boat while fishing between Port Sheldon and Holland on Memorial Day weekend. We all remember the story from this past spring. It was reported that he was trying to fill a bucket with water and got pulled over. (link to story) Thomas fished with us in the first WMFL event this spring. A brief reminder how fragile we are. Rest in peace Thomas.
  16. I love all 4 of my wire rods. Wire dose not attract the sea fleas like braid, and will generally run deeper than braid. As far as copper, I would highly recommend the soft/super copper if you go that rout. 45# standard copper is hard to deploy. A bunch of guys I know, and myself switched over to 32# soft, and are having great results. One note when using Copper; if your planer board slips down to the knot in the line where the copper is attached, it will weaken that area. It is a good idea ti retie that knot occasionally. This is where I get my soft copper and wire. Blood Run Tackle. They also have a depth chart on there site. The 32# copper takes about the same amount of space on your reel as core.
