Last year I lost a 300' 45# copper due to the copper breaking at the knot. The copper was quite new and broke, not the mono.
When I bought the 32# from Greg of Profishent Charters/BloodRun Tackle, he said it's a good idea when tying an Albright knot to add a 2" Haywire to the copper. The Haywire helps to distribute the load away from the knot.
I just got my copper reels back from Tuna Tom all fixed up with new drags. After redoing all the connections, I thought I would post a pic of what he was talking about.
Google Franks great outdoors. Like Adam said, the Ace Hi plugs (by Silver Horde) flat out catch fish. Blue, and Green splatterback in the glow, Glow ladderback, blue, and green lightning are also great.
I made a rocket launcher that will fit on across the tops of my trees. I want to put some deck/rigger lights up there. I'm debating between the low draw of a LED v the brightness of the Halogen. As I age, it becomes very difficult to see in the low light, epically when we get a tangle. Will a LED such as the one below be enough (aprox 340 lumen output)?, or should I just go with the standard 55w Halogen?
The Halogens have 4.5 amps of draw per light, and the LED's have 1 Amp per light. Two lights should do me good.

We pounded the fish last year on the plugs in August. I like then on the long lines (copper or core), but did get fish off the riggers also. My faverots are the Splatter back Ace Hi ones from Silver Horde. When the fish are deep, the plugs help to gain depth from the long lines. http://www.silverhorde.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/SilverWebParts/.pond/acehi.jpg.w560h711.jpg
Golf, Bow Hunting, Gun Hunting in the UP, sex, Shooting at the Sportsman Club, Softball, free time, and the beer after all those things. In the end, it's all worth it.
I have to draw the line at fishing though:D:D
