  1. When I got my Minnkota 3 bank charger, the guys from Johnson Outdoors told me to get the big Everstart batteries from Wall Mart. I am not a fan of Wall Mart any way, shape, or form! I was told the Ever Start batteries where made by Jonson Controls in Holland Mi., so I got two. I could not be happier with the Charger, or Batteries. I fish Muskegon Lake in the fall. We use the trolling motor all night long with out fail. The charger is going on year 5 now, and is flawless.
  2. The best bang for the buck is a blue diamond roller rod. Located here for $70 shipped. The convector 30d is a fine reel.
  3. Better question is: how do you like the I-pilot? How tight will it hold to a sharp break when following a previous track? Thank you.
  4. Git lots of pictures for us. It sounds like a blast.
  5. As of now we have 3 company's willing to sponsor some of our events. 1, Silver Streak Lures 2, Blood Run Tackle. 3, Yogurt Flies Blood Run has extended a discount to the WMFL guys. Put in the discount code wmfl at checkout to get it. I've been using the 32# soft copper, 30# and 40# fluorocarbon leader material, and Stainless fishing wire on my divers. It is all top quality, and very competitively priced. As a thank you to the sponsors, I'm going to reward 5 bonus points to all that post a report after the event. If you use there product to get a fish, say thank you, and make mention of it. WMFL on Facebook For event #1 Silver Streak will give every one a proven lure for the Holland port. If you post a report after the event mentioning the lure, you will get a second lure at the next event. Event #2 Blood Run Tackle is going to give out 4-250' spools of 32# copper. We will pick the winners of the copper out of a hat for the guys that finish in the bottom 1/2 of the event. Event #3 Yogurt Flies will be on hand, giving out flies. The top two fish that come off a Yogurt fly will get a gift certificate from Yogurt Flies. For the year end prize you will have a choice. #1 Gift package from our Sponsors. #2 Muskegon Lake Walleye fishing trip with me. The second place guy will get the leftover prize. This is what can be had at Muskegon Lake in the fall (or winter in this case). From this year. 12 pounds 10 oz.
  6. I use Walkers on my low divers. and love them. I still use lj on my high/out divers, but that's because I'm cheep, and I have them. The lj's will be replaced with Walkers when there gone.
  7. Congrats Dan. Like Kyle said Daybreak is great, and a frequent poster. I don't think there are that many Salmon to catch, bit the Lake Trout are plentiful. A trip to Standard Rock would be great. The area between Grand Marais and Munising Is a a great place to hike (pictured Rock National Lakeshore)
  8. Welcome aboard Noah. Great shot for the avatar.
  9. A trolling plate should work. I think I have 1, or 2 that came off my boat. I'll sell you them for next to nothing.
  10. Looks like a great way to spend a weekend. Thanks for sharing Adam.
  11. If you want to get down to 1 mph than trolling bags are the only way to go. Call and talk with this guy. Dick Boyajian. (231) 723-0013. Or Amish Buggy Bags.
  12. Yes what they said ^^. There is other ways to slow your boat down though. For trolling you can drag trolling bags, or even 5 gallon buckets.
  13. A 124 walker diver on wire will dive very close to %50 of your line out. Wire is a great way to go. It dives deeper, and the sea fleas don't stick to it nearly as bad as braid. Both will catch fish.
  14. I would think with the steeper dive curve of the copper, I would put that on the inside.
  15. I had a guy send me a pm the other day on how I mounted my diver's, and trees. Like his, my boat has a step in the gunnels. The previous owner had made a platform for the rigger (removed), and I expanded on it. The wood is 5/4 ironwood. Ironwood is sometimes used for decking, and has a natural resistance to rot. Plus it looks good. I thought I would share this.
  16. Welcome to the site Shane. I agree with both of the above.
  17. Made me smile Steve. I bet the three of you will have a lot of fun fishing together.
  18. Grand Haven, and Sagatuck are good ports for Browns. There is a learning curve that goes with brown trout fishing. Sorry to say I don't' know what that is.
  19. Brian, Welcome aboard. My divers out produce the riggers all day long. I wouldn't be in any big hurry to get the riggers. Check Craigs List and the buy sell forums. You will find a deal sooner or later. there's a bunch of good guys here to help you out.
  20. You can get an over sized line guide from Tuna Tom, or directly from the manufacture.
  21. I have 2 Accudepth's that have 250' of 32# on them, with 800' of 50# braid. They are about maxed out, but may hold 25' more. The Accudepth is rated for 550yds of 20#mono. How many yards of 20# mono is the 47lc rated for?
  22. Great shots of the pup Jim.
