  1. They take the money that was taxed for dredging and put it in the general fund. That way its easier to give away.
  2. I agree with this ^^^. Both my wire divers (all 4 of them), and my riggers pulled good numbers of fish last year. The changes I made, was to run my inside wire divers lower than my riggers (lowest set off the boat). I am not buying the "harmonics between the two lines" bit, or it could be the fish in Ludington are smarter than the ones here in Holland. Wire is a great choice, but like anything there is a small learning curve. #1, Like Don said, drags loose so they creek once and a while. #2, loosen the drag before removing the rod from the holder. #3, Take your time, don't bring the fish in green.
  3. louie, It's going to warm up later this week.
  4. Darrell, Welcome to the site. I don't know anyone that has one. Sylvan is not considered to be a high end boat.
  5. What program do you use to do this? Thanks Ken.
  6. For finding the temp break, get one of these Fish Hawk TD
  7. That's why I will always recommend the 32# blood Run. It deploys as easy as core, and sink at a 3/2 ratio of core.
  8. Yes on the drag question. A 7' rod is nice for removing the board, but any rigger rod will work. Okuma 55 series reel, Penn 330 gti, Diawa 57 series. Consider using 32# Blood Run copper. It's about the same diameter, but you only need 200' to get what it takes 300' of core to go down. Then you could get by with a Okuma 45 series, Penn 320 gti. I had the same issue with the Z board I had till it came lose, and went by by. Offshore or Church boards are the norm for most.
  9. Every time I look through my pictures, I say the same thing. Thanks for sharing.
  10. I can only imagine how proud you are Randy. Is the Tad Pole going to make any WMFL events this year?
  11. Terry, get a sheet of MDO (medium density overlay) plywood. It has a solid core and is exterior grade. The current pressure treated plywood has Copper Quaternary in it, and will cause galvanic action (like acid) against the Aluminum. Most of your home town lumberyards should have MDO (some may call it "sign board") Ryan should have enough epoxy resin, and cloth left to coat you patch.
  12. Welcome aboard Allan. It's great to have you.
  13. Franks has the best price I found in retail, but Tony is a good choice also.
