  1. It's not looking good period. I believe my wife has us going to Travers City over the holiday. , and I'm not going to get out of next weekend.
  2. 40 deg water! Burr. Nice to get the boat out. Are you fishing the tournament next weekend?
  3. Tom, welcome to the site. Some of my best memories where fishing with my grandpa.
  4. It sure is great working and sweating all week just to sit in the rain on the weekend. Thanks for the update Captain.
  5. I am supposed to be out of town next weekend, so ether I get help running the event, and skip it, or try to get out of the out of town trip. Or do we have it on the holiday weekend?, or skip it?
  6. This is not a copper v core, or 32# v 45# tread. Rather just a tip for those that don't have multiple reels of copper. This is a simple way to turn your 300' copper to a 200' and back again. Take a old line spool, put a bolt through the hole, inset it into your drill, and run off 100'. I leave the leader, and swivel on. Now just add a new leader, and swivel. When it's time to return it to the 300', just cut the leader off and tie together. Copper can spliced very easy, simply by doing a haywire twist. I used 32# Blood Run for these pictures. #1 Overlap the copper about 2" and twist from the center. #2 Twist till tight. #3 This is the same knot/twist after testing the hold strength. The copper broke before the knot/twist moved. Currently here in West Michigan the fish are running 30-40' down. A 200' 32# rig will run at 40' down, The 300' rig would of been running 60' down, under the fish.
  7. Looks/sounds like a blast!
  8. For my copper rods, I have 650' of 30# PP. The Braid diver should have a min of 600' of pp. There are times when you will belly hook a fish, and she will be out 600'.
  9. That's wild Captain John. We will not make it to that end this year, but it sure is a fun area to fish. Good luck on the Atlantic's this season.
  10. It was a bit rough out there. Nice job guys.
  11. We went out at 7pm and fished till 9pm. The lake was bad! We had 4 fish on, but only landed 1(5# king). 70 fow on a South troll. 150' 32# copper, 200' 32# copper, and two rigger hits down 40, and 30'. The current was ripping big time from the south. Fishing with the North waves, we had to throttle up just to get 2.7 on the gps.
  12. Both days are out of the question. We will have to see if we can do anothere date. Sry Boys.
