  1. Thanks for the update Dave.
  2. One of our most effective setups is our 250' 32# Blood Run. It will get you 50' down. Aaron at Lake Shore Outfitters just set 3 of them up for my brother and another friend. He used Okuma Copper Line rods, Convector 45s with 300' of braid, 250' of 32#, and 30' of fluorocarbon. Total cost was around $130 each +-.
  3. Great job Jimmy. The lake sure looks nice.
  4. There was a surface current out of the North this weekend. We had the same thing in Muskegon. I try to hit 2.8- 3.0 sog regardless of currents. To answer your question about last weekend, then yes I would have bumped the sog up to 2.6-2.8. Keep in mind this though. You caught a fish going South at 2.8. Instead of turning to go back to where you where, try staying at that depth and continue going South. Unless there are big pods of bait, often the trolling direction is more important than the area.
  5. Thanks for sharing this Corey.
  6. Great stuff there. Hows the new boat working out?
  7. We left the peer heads at 6m and headed North 1/2 way to Whitehall, and set up in 80fow. We put it on a North troll and started picking up Steel on the 150' 32# Blood Run with Silver Streak mixed veggie mines. We later moved out to 120 to where the kings where. It's a bit blurry, but The wire diver with a 11" white paddle and Big weenie Poofister, fly (had 1 on each side) where taking most of the fish. We turned around past Whitehall and continued picking fish up in the 120-150 depth. We targeted the kings 50-70' down, and the steel on top. Top fish for the day was our second 22# fish this year. It also came on the wire/white 11" Poofster combo. I think we ended with 12 fish, and only lost 1. Rick with his Pig. Doug, and rick. The rest of the crew.
  8. Pics, Pics, That's a great fish Kevin. Nice job with the plumbers.
  9. Eric, welcome to the site. I don't fish Muskegon that often, but when I fish out front, I rarely do very good. I can generally find fish North of port in 90-140 fow. We did very good from Duck Lake towards White Hall Saturday.
  10. That looks like a happy girl Shannon. Nice job.
  11. Whats that shinny thing in Caption Dons hand? Nice job Chloe showing the old dogs how to get big fish. Nice cash out boys.
  12. Great day to be on the water.
  13. Keith, Welcome to the site.

  15. Like Frank said; just use SPF and replace when needed. It will last a long time. If your really worried use Cedar, and coat it with Sikkens before the carpet goes on. Cedar is not as strong, but it can withstand water. My dock is made out of cedar, and it's wet all of the time, with no rot..

  17. Go out to 50 fow, troll S/SW at 2.8 mph, (sog) put the low rigger at 50' with a 30' lead, and the other one at 45' with a 40' lead, with sliders 10' above each. Use the normal sized spoons. Glow early/late, and chrome/yellow, green at full light.
  18. This thread should help you. Nice job getting some fish.
  19. Welcome aboard Brian. To bad for the weather.
  20. That's interesting. Our best action was towards mid day. We totally tanked on the early bite. I think our early morning setup was set to deep.
