Jimbobber, I fish these just the way you see them on the line. Sometimes I troll with a fly rod that can not handle a flasher. I have put flashers on the down rigger weight and run the fly close behind them. It is not out of the question to use the disc in combination with a flasher, I have not done so. In the Baltic Sea, Norwegian anglers fishing rotary head herring have added an Action Disc up the line and it worked well trolling for Atlantic salmon. Denis
