I've fished with Pisces Sportfishing a couple of times. They do a great job and are well respected in the area. We caught multiple Striped Marlin both trips. That was 10 years ago but they are still operating multiple boats. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App

Went out Thursday night after the rain was done. Put lines down in 175 fow and worked out to 220 before missing one on the rigger 125 down. Kept working out to 260 then started picking up a few. Finished 4 for 6. 3 nice coho and a steelhead. All four fish came on 3 colors. Stinger blue dolphin and a green/blue peanut fly saw all the action. Couldn't get any other rod to fire.

Thanks for the report Kevin. We ventured out also but headed deep thinking that the east wind may have messed up the Browns. Only had one rip on a two color in 95 fow (silver thin fish). Broke the line after a nice fight. Marked a number of fish at that depth most of the night but didn't see any other action. -
Got a late start this morning and wasn't able to find the Browns, just a sheephead near the Saugatuck pier heads. Finally gave up and headed deeper and was able to pick up a couple of lakers to salvage the trip. 50-60 fow on bottom. Green dolphin on a diver and a orange and yellow finn spoon on a 7 color. Despite the slow fishing it was a beautiful day on the water. No place I'd rather be.

Fished the shoreline between Holland and Saugatuck again this afternoon. Finished 5 for 6. Two 5 lb browns, two cohos, and a laker. Water was 40 degrees most of the way. Murky and lots of grass floating around after the big rain this week. Fish came on bright body baits including a orange/gold jointed rapala, rainbow thinfish, and thunderstick madflash olive glow. Nice spring day on the water.

Yes. Docks are in at Holland DNR launch. -
Fished the shoreline between Holland and Saugatuck this afternoon. Finished 4 for 7. Two Browns and two nice steelhead. Lost another nice steelhead at the back of the boat. Black and Gold Rapalas (jointed and floating) and yellow perch floating Rapala took the fish today. Water was 39 - 40 degrees most of the way. Beautiful March day on the water.

I was reading an excellent article from Blood Run Tackle (http://bloodruntackle.com/pro-tips/down-to-the-wire/) where they mentioned to never break down a wire rod for storage as it can lead to kinks in the wire, and ultimately wire failures. Looking back on last season I think I was a victim of this. I have a 26' center console with no storage so I typically break down my rods and store them in the dock box. I had a couple of wire failures last year, and think this may have been the cause. I keep the boat at a marina and am not comfortable leaving the rods out in the open. With the rods being 9' and 10' long taking them home in one piece also isn't very viable. As an alternative I'm considering adding a 20'+ leader to the end of the wire so that when I'm done for the day all the wire will be wound on the spool and I can break the rod down and still store it in the dock box without fear of kinking the wire. I have a couple of questions: 1. If I add a leader to the end of the wire, what would you recommend for material? Braid, Mono, Fluorocarbon? I'm worried the mono or fluorocarbon might kink also when the rod is folded in half. 2. Any concerns that adding a leader will hurt the performance of the wire set-up? Since this would all be above the diver I don't think it would make much of a difference. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
