  4. Nice pics. I wish I could have gone with you guys. Man those kings are starting to get really dark. seems a little early but bolth of those fish look ready to run.
  5. I was in pentwater two weeks ago and if you head right in to pentwater there are ramp signs right to the launch. Parking is limited. depending on how busy it is you might have to park a quarter mile or so from the launch. kind of reminds me of Saugatuck. Nice town though. If you want a great burger eat at the black bear bar. excelente. One other note is that yes they were catching alot of fish south of the harbor all the way to the point and the beaches were covered with dead alwifes.
  6. I do the same as Dave. start it all at 75' and when it gets below 30 replace it.
  7. Nice pics. boy im really missing my boat.
  8. I bought one that rsembles carmel dolphin. It has no name other than all the gander spoons are called crippled alewife. other then that there is no distinction. the one I have also catches fish. it is great on the rigger deep when kings start comming in july. Cant find another one though. It was in one of those bins that says everthing 2 dollers.
  9. I second Gander Mt spoon. only because I have the same one and it is a gander Mt spoon.
  10. Bill Thanks for sharing this. Ive made up my mind and will keep my Money and myself anyware but Canada. Its a beautiful piece of earth but if that is how canadian government wants to act then to hell with them. If it were not for the united States, Canada would not exsist. All the post I have read,it's very clear that this is about Money.
  11. Nice pic Paul. thanks for sharing.
  12. Take a look at the Canucks line up. They are mostly sweedish. Oh the humanity.
  13. Hey Dave I have done it before on my 18,Mv jon boat. I bought all the material from the boat dealer I bought the boat from. For aluminum after you strip the old paint off or most of it as some was stuck on good. there is a primer you use and it is not like regular primer. It is more like an adheasive and has no color. It is acutually tacky. Then the paint I used wich was sent right from sylvan was green but it was about the consitancy of water. It went on and stuck to the primer and is very durable. I am on my 8th season with that boat with that paint job and the outside of the boat looks great. The inside I redo every couple of years as it get beat up from fishing equipemnt duck decoys etc. but it takes a pretty good beating and does not just come right off with ease. Depending on the aluminum boat you have you might just want to contact the manufacturer and buy it right from them or have a dealer do it for you. I rolled the adheasive on with a roller and I rolled on the paint over it . You can spray it but even thought the paint is like water, once it hits the air it dries very fast. Hope this helps you with your decision.
  14. I agree with phill. for $7 its not worth it. with the economy the way it is they are looking for any reson to write tickets.
  15. For me it would be the dipsey rig for its versitility being able to set it up for depth and distance and spread. Not my favorite rig to fish but definently one of the most usable from a options standpoint for fishing many different presentations along with the range of adjustments.
  16. Nice Jarrod. Did you fish north or south of the harbor?
  17. Hey Jason To answer your first question (optima) makes a 24 v deep cycle batterie and it would take up less space then two 12 v batteries series together to answer question 3 the answer is no. you will burn up your trolling motor running it at 12 v and my guess that it would not evern turn the motor. that should take care of question 2 as well. to answer question 4 yes there are limitations when running long lenghts of wire but your boat is not so long that as long as you run an #8 awg you should be fine. if you want to feel even fuzzier inside run 6 awg from the back of the boat. and question 5 always put a switch or breaker in as a disconnecting means for working on it that way you have a way of shutting power at the unit if need be. Hope this helps. good luck.
  18. Yeh I always remember that being a good pike and perch lake. and if you wanted gills then drive around to the southeast end and fish bloody run which connects Barton with Kimbal and all the other lakes that are right there. If there are smallies that big in there it might be worth the trip down from Martin to revisit one of my old fishing lakes. again great pics.
  19. Born and raised in schoolcraft. Know Barton lake well if it is the same one out off of portage and dead ends into xy ave in Vicksburg. Nice pics thank you for sharing.
  20. Just got back from Punta Cana. Paid for a 10 hour vip charter threw firstclass fishing charters. What I got was some Ham sandwiches, Rusty bait rigs, oxidized fishing reels and rods and carbon monoxide poisioning from diesel exhaust fumes from a 42 foot 30 year old bertram that looks nothing like the picture on there web page. Glad I held back half untill after the charter. felt bad for the first mate becuse he worked his but off but no fish. wich I attribute to junk equipment. I still tipped him but my wife was so sick from engine exhaust I told the captain to take us in after 6 hour. sad thing is I really researched this charter and they were in the top 40 of over 200 offered in Dominic Republic on every review site I looked at. I would have hated to take the one ranked at 100. I told my wife I wanted to got to Cabo before she picked Punta Cana. By the way. Sweet picks thanks for sharing. I feel bad that I lost an opportunity to fish for one of the great fish. Hope I can get an opportunity to go and try it again with a good charter.
  21. Nice boat. love those sylvans.
