Moosky: (aka Barbi Doll) will she be ready for spirng this year> She looks good> Is that captian Ken behind you?
-
Ya that is because Southaven dropped out of the tournement trail events I belive 2 years ago.
-
usually it is but I have fished it the first week of may. If the summer challenge in ST.Joe is the week before then it will be the first week in may. so that usually determins each port and dates of the tournements. I have fished both for alot of years up untill I sold the old silver one last spring and it flip flops. I have not seen a schedule yet from either. Any other steelheaders out there heard of this years dates yet?
-
Hey Shannon. I like the times but Im not sure you might want to make sure that May 5th is not the weekend of the Southaven Big jon pro am.
-
Im sure there are some fish there but typically they dont show up in SH untill mid April. Drive 40 min south and fish out of ST.JOE. There are coho south at the powere plant down there. and they are getting fish at the mouth of the river.

Lets be carful when grouping snowmobilers. Snowmobiles dont cause acceidnets. people do. I am a snowmobiler and a safe one. along with alot of other snowmobilers I know. You need to be careful. like Dan states here. its not snowmobilers its the alcohol. No different then getting drunk and going hunting or boating. I always tell my kids dont blame guns for somone being murdered by one.blame the person who pulled the trigger. Snowmobiles cant use logic or common sense only people can.

The other down side is that parts from Bombadier are very expensive. just ask anyone who has owned a ski doo snowmobile.
-
Yes it is. and I get to drive to Buffalo NY to pic it up. Olsen Bros Marine.

There only is one and only ever will be The Barbi Doll and she changed her name to Kelly Lynn. I am putting no name on her. Same as the old one. i will just keep using my site name like in the past. I thought about the Hay-Z-K after Haylie,Zach and Kim my Kids and wife.

Bow cover fishermans top are part of the package. I will still need to buy side curtains. but need to save more money first. Belive me I need about 8k more to get it set up the way I want. Little bit here and there. If I go camando with the whole deal at onece my wifes great attitude about the whole thing might go south . Dont want to spooke her so I am using the stalking methond on the whole thing. Last night she saw me looking at electronics on line and started asking questions and stated dont go crazy all at one time. this will be the last boat I purchase in my lifetime.

went with the 115 merc 4 stroke. I was looking at 150 but the man who sold it to me is a walley charter captain over in Buffalo NY and said that the 115 is what crestliner recomends for this the 150 will push it over 55 mph but I dont need that kind of speed.. She will top out between 35 and 40 mph depending on number of people and gear. plan on putting the merc 9.9 four storke pro kicker on it. This will be a long term project to get it the way I want. took me 5 years to get the old silver one rigged the way it was when I sold it. after all rome was not built in a day. with all the gear, kicker and 3 people he said you would still top out close to 30 mph.

No! That is was what the wife like about it. however it folds down which is perfect. with no dog house like on my old I/o I actually have more room with an 18.5 foot boat. you can see how it looks on crestliners web site. It is the 1850 sportfish. shows the seats up and what it opens up like with them folded both the stern and the bow.

Here she is after almost 2 years of procrastination. Just purchased this today. I wanted the Hewes but went with the crestliner. I just could not pass the deal I got on this boat. Here it is. brand new. Lots to rig but we have a starting pioint now.

Funny you should ask that becuase as I was jummping from pile to pile I remember thinking My dad use to make me do the pile jumping when I was zachs age. Being that he is only 13 I did not want him jumping on a snow covered pile with a gun in his hand and try shooting rabbits at the same time so I did the dirty deed. I wont lie it was quite a work out over a period of 4 hours but I have more fun watching him and remembering the excitement level I use to have at his age. Nothing more fun then a rabbit hunt to a 13 year old boy who love hunting and fishing.

With no Ice to go ice fishing My son and I were boared out of our minds yesterday now that the lions are done for the year, decided to take advantage of a cool sunny, snowy afternoon and chased some bunnys. we ended up with 8 total and my son shot these three after pumping a whole box of shells threw his gun. 40 acre proporty across from our house was logged off a year ago and the tops were cut and put into hundreds of brush piles making it a bunny haven. here is zach with his 3.

Is that 18 footer the one you have currently in stock with trech track already on the gunnel. I belive this is the one Derik Martin sent me pics of.
-
Where in Michigan is there showroom?
-
Just had Derik Martin send me a quote for the 18' sportsman last week. I was acutually supprised to find that the same boat in a lund or a crestliner with the same set up is almost 12k more. Not sure why that is as the Hewes is twice the boat either of those are. Lund and crestliner are both good boats but for the money once you start looking Hewes is not overpiced. I am really leaning towards the Hewes right now but the wife is a battle as she likes the Champaign look of the crestliner. As far as the set up I enjoy doing that myself. Are you guys bringing anyboats to any of the shows in michigan. would love to get my wife a first hand look without driving to Illinois. We plan on looking at the up and comming boat show at Devos Place in Grand Rapids. Its been too long without a boat for the big lake.

Whats your 2 cents on downriggers?
silver one replied to fisherdee's topic in Salmon Pro's Connection
I have used bolth Cannons and Walkers. I like them bolth. I prefer the walkers as there is a authorized walker service dealer 5 min from the house and will get me what I need any day of the week as long as he is home. Service and parts should be a part of your decision. I also like the pulley ends better on walkers as the cannons are smaller diameter so when rigging stackers or sliders if the fleas are bad then the walkers are more forgiving on the pulley ends. other then that no mechanical or electrical issues with either. 9 year old walker captains pacs with auto shut off and never an issue until I sold the silver one this last spring. When I bought it in 01 it had cannons on it and they were 10 yr old and was told never had an issue. -
Throttle in Neutral Button Help
silver one replied to j1musser's topic in Boat Maintenance and Rigging
Jarrod There were two styles in the quick silver throttle assembly. one is electric. and the other is mechanical. If it is the mechanical then there is a keyed slot that is not linning up as sometimes they breake free when advancing the shifter inside the throttle. If it is electrilc then you are simply just not getting power to the switch. Yours looks mechanical and I belilve the first of the two. If you can pull it apart and see the actual outer insert that goes around the button look for a slotted key of some type and see if it has broken free from the housing that holds it in place. Being a 97 you might just want to replace it.
