I would be glad to buy raffel tickets however I too am supporting additional kids with clothing and school supplies. My wifes brother is fighting a gleo glasto carcinoma in the base of his brain. He is on his third surgery and on his last round of kemo. This has made our finances tight therefore I will have to decline, However I will Pray for this situation as I do everyday for mark. Recent prognosis is stated as poor.

So between you and Bourghs I should not even have to take my boat out of the barn. Sweet

How did everyone do during firearm deer season?
silver one replied to Heavy Action's topic in Deer Hunting
Shot a 5 pt with my bow on nov13th. So far for the firearm season I have shot 3 does as we are overpopulated with them on my property. Total off of my place is 7 deer. Father in law shot a 6 pt with a gun. neighbor shot 7pt with a bow. my father shot a doe on the last day of reg firearm and my 16 yr old shot a button>>>lol. gave one doe to my brother in law who cant hunt as he is battling cancer and one to the homeless shelter in Grand Rapids. -
The way the butcher shops do it is by how lean you want your meat. If you add 1lb of beef fat or pork to 10lb of ground venision you have what is considered 90% lean based. I ususally go by this but its all in how mutch fat you want in your meat. As emerall says (PORK FAT RULES)

just curious. How does that berretta throw slugs with that long barrell? Or was it just grab the first gun that was availible.

We only fill the silver one at the marina if we are slipped for a period of time. other than that we fill it plainwell at the mobile. One advantage to trailering a boat. can save a few bucks at the pump. If they dont spill I leave a tip if they spill I leave nothing.

If my wife let me buy a boat like that I would feel obligated to name it after her and go with the big Greatlakesfishermen logo on the side. Fortunantly for me she new nothing of my boat when I bought it So I just use my site name as I have yet to figure out just what I want on the back of my boat

I dont know right off hand but I have complete schematics and parts listings and adjustment procedures in my manual. The silver one has an alpha drive and after running an omc on the old super tramp I beleve this is a good unit. Never had a problem with mine. I also belive there is a micro switch on the cable that sits right on top of the engine that is suppose to read neutral before it allows the dog clutch to engage. This is the only common problem I know of with either the alpha or the bravo series outdrive. If you want to borrow my manual on merc outdrives, let me know and ill bring it in to work.

hey all just my two cents worth Either way, catfish hog is correct weather you are in the harbor or within a 1/4 mile you dont run boards as not only will you run into other fishermen, but rather the sail boats will cut you off and not bat an eyelash once they hit the water around mid mornining.

Just fyi Neil is who I bought my downriggers from directly, and in the spring he offers a reconditioning special where he will go through the whole thing, load check, springs, cables, spools washers etc. Caz,s info to get a hold of Neil is correct, however he is out on diliveries and on the road usually from around 11.00am untill right around 3.00pm so either call before or after or leave him a voice mail.

Hey fellas Anyone ever put there boat in the water at a boat ramp and go out fishing for the day only to come back and find a lite broken off of your trailer or the frame is bent because some people dont know how to use there mirrors on there vehicle. This has happened to me atleast a half of dozen times over the years and happend to me again this past sunday out on Gun Lake While on an afternoon smallmouth fish with my sons Dominic and Zach. This time was different however due to the fact that the gentleman that did it left a note with his name and number on my truck explaining what he had did and was more than willing to pay for the dammage. the new lite was only $21 dollers so the expense was the least of my concerns. The fact that this guy left a note ment alot to me and I called him to thank him for leaving a note. So Gary just wanted to say thanks for being a stand up guy. I wont list his hole name because I dont have his permission. just wanted to say thanks. And if this happens to one of you dont be afraid to be a stand up guy you might just make a new fishing buddy.

Fall is best because most guys are willing to come down on price quite a bit inorder to keep from winterizing and storing or making payments all winter if it is financed

Have not been on the big pond out for silver fish since the 4th of july weekend, I have been however been hitting Gun Lake which is only 5 min from my home and getting good numbers of very healthy small mouth. wont tell were but depth is around 7 foot and weedy. Tubes are the ticket, salt and pepper and pumpkin seed, also black. took one on last monday with my daughter that was 23" and was a couple of oz shy of the 6lb range. Gun can bee a tough lake to fish this time of year and I am quit supprised we have been catching these fish of this size and good numbers.

What was your HOT BAIT for the Dreamweaver Challenge this year
silver one replied to caznik's topic in General Discussion
I would have to say that the stinger jawbreaker spoon, the fishlander blue green dolphin spoon and holographic green and white spin doctor with a green krinkle fly by purple taco, have been our best lures consistanly for the past 3 years. I have the same spoons in dreamwaver and silver streak and the fishlanders and the stingers have outfished them running side by side. however they have all produced fish. we did not fish the tournement just wanted to add the feedback -

Of the four days we were there we only made it our twice where it was enjoyable for more than 1 hour. rough seas kept us in port most of the time. On friday morning My wife and I got into the jumbo perch . They started out small and the closer we kept going to shore the bigger they got. All in all we caught around 50 perch in about an hour and a half and kept 25 nice ones. the only other trip we made out was yesterday morning and ended up going after silver fish as the northwest wind cooled the water down and sent the perch tword chicago. ended up 6 for 6 with one king, one steelhead, and four laketrout. Only kept two of the four lakers as it was just the wife and I again. King came on a full core with a jaw breaker stinger spoon. steelhead came on full core with a candy corn silver streak. and all fourl lakers came on the green and white Holographic spindoctor with a green krinkle fly 80 down on the rigger in 95 feet of water. Cant complain to much, did better then I expected.

Hey Guys and Gals My good freind Greg Bourghs and I made it out on the silver one lastnight. Have not been out on the silver one for 6 weeks and managed to go 2 for 5 form 5 pm to 7:30 pm. Found the fish out in 80' and alot of big bait fish marks. 42.36.534 on the gps and all the way out to 94' we found good marks. Blue Green Dolphin spoon 30 behind the ball 68 down took 4 of the 5 hits and took one nice 10lb King. Took a nice steelie on 2 color swr rig with a stinger Jawbreaker spoon. Bolth fish that were caught were taken on the south troll. All other hits came on the north troll but hit short. The current was not to bad however I feel this was the problem with the north troll. Boat is in the slip will be over there all weekend with the family. Give us a shout if your out and about. Just wanted to add the surface temp in 80' of water was around 64 to 65 degrees. 68" down on the subrtoll we had 52 to 54 degrees. best speed was 2.5 on the sub troll. Joe,Kim,Zach and Haylie

Fished south haven yesterday for perch and ended up with an even dozen keepers, Probobly could have cought fish all day however after being there for about an hour my kids got board and wanted to go to the beach and cool off. So in an hour in 56' of water just a tad south we found them along with everyone else there. Saw two good old boys had 50 nice ones average was between 8 and 9" with one that was just over 13". Minnows and wigglers. Wigglers will be gone soon so buy what you can. Im going to freeze them and use them again. This has worked for me in the past.

Fished southhaven yesterday and eneded up 4 for 6. Four hits came on a full core. 2 on the bloodynose nk spoon and 2 on Mt.dew spin doctor and green richey fly. other two hits came on the dipsey 150' back with blue green dolphin and one on the rigger on fishlander easter egg. Fish have moved out as all hits came between 154' and 173'. Started straight out from the power plant and ended up straght out from the pier heads. hits came in all directions, as the lake was dead flat. speeds were between 2.4 and 2.7 on the gps and 1.25 and 1.5 at the sub troll. surface temp was between 53 and 55 degrees and 42 to 44 degees at 120 down. did not mark alot of fish and what we did mark was right on the bottom. One hit was down in the 90 ft range
