  1. Thanks for the info john. We will be putting the boat in on wednesday and fishing thursday and friday and hopefully get a pattern for the tournement on sat and sunday We will se you on the water. Channel 10 is the fishermans channel on the radio out of southaven.
  2. So far that is the only report Ive seen of fish out that deep as we were in southaven for about 4hrs sat morning and went 3 for 3 in 110 to 120' of water. I saw two boats out there but bolth were on an east troll the whole time wich led me to belive they were searching. From your report I see you found. Did you find any temp breaks or bait out there as the graph was blank in the 110 to 120 depth. Good job sounds like a good day of fishing.
  3. The truck used a half a tank of gas to go from Martin to Southhaven and back approximatly 15 gal which I think would work out to $47.25 at $3.15 a gallon. The boat used approximatly 12 gallons wich is about a 1/4 of a tank at $3.68 a gallon for 93 octain wich would work out to $46.00. So to the doller just for gas $93.25 so basicall a 100 spot to go fishing for 1 day. Thanks alot caz I did not think it was that bad untill I added it up to reply to this post. I got hosed.
  4. Just a correction on that christmas tree spoon. I was not sure If was correct so I looked it up and it is a stinger Green Machine not christmas tree.
  5. Moosekey and I made it out of southhave on sat 5/5. set lines about 10;00 am as we did not do the early thing. Went 4 for 6 untill around 2:00pm First fish came on stinger christmas tree spoon is what I think is what they call it. 95' of water straight out from the power plant. 34' down and 20' behind the ball, onthe inside rigger, nice 10lb king. Second came on the outside rigger 30' behind the ball on stinger NBK, 3lb coho. The last two bolth came on a full core, one out each side, bolth laketrout around 5lb. One on stinger jawbreaker and the other on bloodynose silverstreak. The first one ended up in a tangle due to to sharp of a turn with my swr rig. Had to cut my core and ended up pulling the fish in by hand. All in all pretty fortunante only lost the the full core. Did not loose my spoon or the fish. fortunantly I carry spare lead core spools and was able to restring her up on the spot. All in all not a bad 4 to 5 hour fishing trip. water was 46 to 49 degees all fish came in the same general area mentioned above. Boat ran well. first time back in the water since the starter/carbourator problems.
  6. Moosekey and I are going to hit southhaven sat. The water is cold but have to try and find some fish out there as the bigjon pro am is comming up.
  7. Just came in from the barn. Finished putting the carbortator back in the silver one and resetting the timming and got her tuned back in. She is holding Idle at about 800rpm's without missing a beat. Its a good feeling when you have her dialed back in and feel confident about the motor. My opologies to my wife and kids as I have been a real bear to deal with while trying to get this dialed back in. My wife occasionaly reads some of my post off of the site so im hoping she reads this and it will get me some brownine points.
  8. Im going to pull the carb and take it over to Matteson's as there mechanic is a close freind. called him lastnight at home and he thinks the same. And he said for what its worth we may just as well put a hole carb kit in. this would explain what happened to the starter as it went out when she backfired last time out and more than likely that is what busted that gear on the bendix.
  9. As I stated last weekend the starter on my boat took a big dump however got her rebuilt and works well no dammage beyond that. only problem now is the baot keeps flooding itself out. I actually watched fuel pouring into the intake from the top of the carb while looking down through the venturies into the top of of the intake. Took the carb apart and put her backtogether and same thing. keeps backfiring while starting due to the excessive fuel so I shut her down untill I can get a carb kit. actually had a small fire when it backfired so I did not want to blow up a piston. Has to be the needle and seet sticking wide open. Any other thoughts.
  10. I dont see the turkey listed under caznik's catch! Whats up with that? are we just limited to fish? I thought about doing the same thing exept I would list everything coons, oposoms, stray dogs, stray cats, etc. if you get it you list it. Nice bird.
  11. What kind of circut board are we talking about I know atleast three guys on this website that deal with this everyday as we are industrial electricians and im one of them and work with the other two. If it is somthing simple. Need info on what is the issue.
  12. Ive found in the past in st. joe that a large number of boats tend to move the fish. Talked with three boats that were pulling out before 8.00am sat all had limits and were on the water at 6.00am trolling for that reason. They did not have to doge the herd. I have also seen this myself as ive gone during the week in same conditions weather wise as it was on the weekend and cleaned up when no other boats were around. You get 3 or 4 hundred boats motoring around and it even scares me at times.
  13. My father in law who fishes with me and is retired is going to take it to lohorburg sales in moline he specializes in repair, rebuild and will even get it replaced if necessary. thanks god for retirement and my father in law. the big john pro am is only a little more than three weeks away and still only have one trip for the year.
  14. Made it down to st.joe on sat. beautiful morining. The boat launch reminded me of that sceen in the movie JAWS where they are all at the marina with guns and dynamite and spears and everyone is yelling and screeming at each other. it was hilarious. anyway backed the boat down in the water started it up let her warm up went to back out she stalled wich she occasionally does when she has only run for 5 min and when to restart and the starter in my boat fried. paddled back to the dock pulled the boat out and went back home. 0 for 0.
  15. Stinger number 1 all the way with silver streaks and fishlanders second and third. Also have a small number of northports that still produce a good number of fish and some are as old as 20 yr old from the days of the super tramp back in the early 80's.
  16. One of my favorite sayings to somone who looks depressed is (Man you look like you just lost your best huntin dog.) My sympathys Rich
  17. Sounds like your program is working. If your fishing 2 color or swr rig that tells me the fish like distance from the boat. Try running spoons further back on the rigger. also run a Dipsey rig with a flasher and a fly out each side. Ive found that these work better as attractors for early kings and will get your riggers producing more and even take one or two on the dipsey. Run more on the surface as well. get some inline mono riggs on the surface with thin fins and j11 and j13 rapalas as I have taken quite a few nice 10 to 15 lb spring kings on this program. You will just have to figure out what works best on your rig.
  18. Pics like that really get your adreniline going. Im jelous.
  19. That is the new prop right after the old one was chewed up by a piece of sheet metal after crossing the lake in Sagatuck when water was low.
  20. Here is the Silver One
  21. thanks!
  22. When do you need to know if were in as I have to check our schedual and make sure our football camp is not falling on the same weekend as I am a football coach in The great town of Martin. Go Clippers.
  23. thanks for the report levi. Are the docks in at the launch yet?
  24. Thanks. Last time I was out was the same day I talked to you in the fog and on the way back in I had the outdrive trimmed all the way up and we were still churning up bottom so I dont want to chance it untill its safe.
  25. That is what im not sure about. Dont know that little piece of river real well. I guess you could call braians marina and find out. He is a pretty nice guy and might know the answere to our question. If I get time today I will call him and check. Got to go replace a motor right now.
