  1. Fished Saugatuck on sat after finding someone to work my shift for me on sat. Had to get out as football is fastly approching and this could have possibly been the last trip out for the year for the Silver One. Ended up 17 for 22 or so as I believe I had a few false releases due to current and waves. Two lakers Two steelhead and the rest kings. Big king was around 17lb on the old spring scale and big laker was around 14lb. Set up right in harbor and trolled N/W out. Picked up first fish in 44' being a Steelhead on halfcore red tiger streak. did not have another hit untill we hit 85' then started picking fish off from 85 out to 140 for depth. Had the Whole program going from here on as we took fish on wire dipsey 90 and 140 back blue pro troll and blue bubble fly and blue/white spindoctor and canadian Ketchup yogurt fly were hot early. Picked up kings on fullcore with fishlander bloodynose and stinger jawbreaker. Halfcore with jplug batman. Rigger piced up fish on nitropox 56 and 62 down, rigger 90 down with bluedolphin too a bull of a laketrout and a second later in the morning. took fish on slider with stinger graigs christmas tree and stinger killer orange. all in all a great day of fising. Had a dead spell from 9.00am to 11.30 am, only had 6 fish in the box at 11.30 and found them at 11.30 in 133' of water and put 11 more fish in the box between 11.30 and 2.00pm. 42.40.620 between 110 and 140 was hot. lots of fish on the graph. Glf: I realized when we pulled in the wire that I had blue bubble on but it was not my sigs rig so cant enter it in the contest. but it was still the same set up. Those boys had a blast and this was My freind Lukes first trip ever with his boy andrew on the the bottom pic on the far right. These two dont even own a bluegill rod and have never casted a line at any fish. What a way to break them in. Bolth had no idea the we have this great sport just right down the road and are ready to go again.
  2. Girl fisher welcome aboard. Just want to give you some advice without trying to make you feel like everyone is picking on you as that is nobodys intent on this site. Glf Mentioned that his kids are not replacable and Im with him and to go one step further for that matter no human life is replacable. As far as safety it is a great topic. I work with a young lady that just recenty purchased a boat and I started asking her these types of questions that deal with saftey and she did not have clue, being that she had never captained a boat. And I say that NOT being a captain however I do own boats and when myself and others are on my boats it is my resposiblity for 100% fo there well being as well as mine. anyway as I asked this person questions I suggested boating safety, as the law reads that if you were not born before, I believe 1978 you MUST have a boaters safte as well as PWC saftey to run a watercraft. There is an online class with a cost of $15 dollers that is a link of www.michigan.gov/dnr that has the online class. It was a weekend so I went threw it with her as I took boaters saftey back in 1977. And it was quite an eye opener as alot has changed since that course as PWC throw a hole new line of laws into the mix. (Personal Water Craft) pwc for those who dont know. After you take the class you still have to take Michigan boaters safety however I belive you have to have this certificate to take the class. this is the best advice I can give you at this time without going into great detail about all the do's and donts. one thing for sure Dont use inflatble life preservers on kids, the class with tell you what ages have to wear what type of preserver as there are many and always take two throwable floatation devices with you as if they fall you can thow somthing that quick that they can atleast grab. However I make my kids were vest when ever the boat is under power as this is when a person is at the most risk of falling out and gettin hurt. Dont let your fear turn you away from fishing. but let it raise your level of respect for the water and it will make you a better captain.
  3. Thanks for the report. sounds like the kinks are finally making there way south.
  4. Ok Ill come clean. Since mike did not point it out I was the one who lost a hog on the rigger at 55 down. But the only way I would put on the pink sissy belt is if he strapped me up and He turned me down. In my defense the hook straightened out on me as it was a big fish. I know excuses are like my rump" full of ??? and everyone has one. thanks again mike.

  11. I had to burn a few vac days and take the wife but we still had fun:eek:
  12. Spent 3 days in S.H. fishing is somewhat slow. ON thur morn ended up 3 for 11, the worst numbers in my life. and yes hooks were sharp. My brother who is no kind of fisherman lost 6 fish in a row. I had to remind them that they are not bass and that on a full core you do not have to hammer the fish. Of course he was in his happy place after 20 or so miller lites before noon so he was having fun. Full core with the jaw breaker took 2 kings and Kovorkian stripper took a laker. Fri only made it our for about 2hr as the lake was kicked up. ended up 2 for 2 with bolth being kings. One on fullcore bloodynose and the other on red tiger SS on the rigger 28 down. Water was cold as it was 45 degreed 35 foot down in 80ft of water. Sat morning ended up 6 for 9 as we got a little serious and finally got some good numbers . fished or 4 hours. Swr rig on the rigger with the B/G Dolphin was the hot set up taking 3 kings and one steelhead. Other two were a steelhead on halfcore SS redtiger and laker on NBK copper. Best speeds were 2.6 to 2.8 good numbers were in the 26 to 29 and best depth was anywhere from 80ft t0 113ft.

  17. How many here feel the same way I do in that when mr big buck does come buy that the guys who are hunting this early season will end up shooting that deer. Of cours over by me is orangeville and they hunt eveyday of the year. And my fields tend to be a good choice for them to poach from the road with rifles.
  18. You guys are killing me. Nice catch.
  19. Excellent catch guys; From the reports im reading sounds like I better pull the boat down to the Joe.
