silver one replied to glnmiller's topic in Michigan Waters Fishing Reports - Salmon and Trout
Thanks for the report. other then being shallow was there any logs or stumps etc. as they tend to collect at the basin of the river out from the launch and Brians Marina. I belive they will drege this in April. Want to go out next sunday but dont want to tear up my lower unit. -
Im glad it was a good expirence for you . I think I have gone for so many years now that it has lost some of its luster. I Met some good people that were in the Hunting guide services and had some great conversations as well.

Was at the show lastnight. Beware of the product salesmen that think they are fishermen. I actually had a Dreamweaver rep Say to me Yeh,(talking about spin doctors) this are just out and they are Hot. And I said , If they just came out, how do you know they are hot. And he actually said, well we had a similar one last year but this is a little different, and I said were is the one that was hot last year, and he said we dont have that one and I said why not and he turened and gave the guy behind me the same speech. I felt like I was at the Allegan county fair. Also I felt that there were absolutly no deals at the show. I can buy all that I bought online and pay shipping and get just as good of a deal. I hate to be negative but sometimes that is what honesty is about.

[SOLD]Fishing Rods

I hit the wrong key these are 10 foot rods not 10 inch. -
I have two brand new Okuma 10' Blue Diamond roller rods that I used a half of season for sale. paid $70 a piece for the pair. I I will take $75 for bolth or $40 a piece. I liked the rods very much for my wire set up but on the back of an 8.5' wide boat they did not fit into my spread well.

Small boat, big adventures
silver one replied to pulpfishin's topic in Welcome to Great Lakes Fisherman
Hey Kieth I fish all of the same ports that you fish and have and done so since being a young boy. If your are in Southhaven or Saugatuck listen to chanel 10. I am always willing to give info if called but dont make alot of calls. St.Joe will be chanel 68. Generally if there is alot of chatter on the radio the fishing is good it is when it is quiet that the fishing is slow. We do pretty well out of all of these ports depending uppon the time of year. Good Luck. -

I knew I spelled piezoe wrong. Not a common word of the english language.
-
Correct me if im wrong but I belive the correct terminology for an echip from an elelctrilc standpoint is Piezo elelctric. or harmonics if you will. Did I mention im also an idustrial electrician. Checked the spelling. I think this is the correct way to spell it as checked the dictonary and if you look this up on the internet this is exactly what the echip is based on. Harmonics is electrical current made from movement or wich creates vibration. these pulses of viration are what create the voltage. There is more then I can type on this as it has its own place threwout history but it has been around along time. prety intersting.

What I do is buy it and have it delivered right to the house and when she asks what it is you tell. Honey we talked about this and I told you I ordered it. Then I say Im sorry I missunderstood you. I will return it. And its always the same. well there is no point in sending it back now you might just as well keep it.Then the next day send her flowers and tell her how great she is. pretty soon they stop asking questions and you can also stop sending flowers. or like my dad says just grow a pair and buy it.

I love this as much as the next registered republican, lets just try and remember what were all about here and not get this topic to offensive and talk about what really matters and that is weather or not to run half core or full core. As for Jenny, she is a tangled mess that needs to be cut off and re tied.

Maybe instead of begging for money from the federal government, Which we will pay for anyway. She should figure out a way to Do her job which is create jobs rather then drive them away. Im willing to overlook anyones shortcommings but she has not done her job. plain and simple.

I was 6yrs old, 1974 the first time I went salmon fishing on lake Michigan out of St.Joe on a 21' starcraft Mariner. Started runing my dads 24' coloso sea eagle, aka (Super tramp) out of St.Joe at the age of 13. I can remember fishing the Stroghs salmon bonanza and fishing right along side by side with Pete Robionious ( the original Dream Weaver) and Ron Burget on the Stormin Normin with all three boats having doubles of coho back in the hay days in early june 1982. I can remember the fish were so thick that when you went to let a spoon back to set it on the rigger the fish would grab it before you could even hook it to a rigger. the way we fished then compared to know with all of the coper and lead etc sure has changed.

Salmon River Steelhead
silver one replied to Billy V's topic in New York Waters Fishing Reports - Salmon and Trout
Beautiful pics Billy! Thanks for sharing them. -
That was very cool to watch. I love catching fish from shore line. Were you on the St.Joe.

Fish wisper is correct. If you look back over the years and when cow bells were used and still are for targeting primarily lake trout, copper was the one color that was the base color for most combonations. Now in the river copper is very deadly for steel head as I have caught most of my trout out of the st. joe and the kalamazoo and Manistee on copper and orange. I have also hooked up alot of coho on copper late March into April as I have researched this in the past and found water clearity has to do with the contrast of copper depending on the time of year. Darker water copper is going to look more silver under water then clearer water. Dark cloudy days copper has been very successful over the years.
