  1. Yes was out and back in quick. see my post.
  2. I did actually do that exact think but I thing because I keep my boat in a barn that is usually dark that not all of the moister escapes. Thanks for the suggestion it is a good one
  3. That is an excellent question. I have the same issues with the $3 totes and have found that after I put the boat away I have to open all my totes and let stuff dry out and the Dipseys and planner boards are the two that collect moisture in the totes.
  4. I also do the $3 storage tote from wallmart. Have tried alot of different tackle storge systems over the years from home made to brand name design ideas and have found that the wallmart system works the best for the amount of money you spend. The storage bag in the picture looks nice and I might even purchase one to keep other stuff from rubbing against the dipseys and scratching them but they will still end up inside a $3 tote
  5. Thanks for the heads up Mike. Last night I went home and pulled all the spilt rings off of mine and I will just hook right up with the sampro swivle.
  6. That is why I was curious as I have not had one break as of yet. But there again there is always a first time for everything.
  7. I have replaced the hooks with Gamagatsu hooks but I have never taken off the split rings. So my question is what have you guys found by taking the split rings off. Im always open to new Ideas and if it changes the action then im game
  8. I was on my way home from helping Barron out with his cabinents. he gave me his old ones for my Barn.
  9. Thanks for sharing the pics Ken. they are awsome. Saw a drake loon over on the Kalamzoo river lastnight near pine creek lake in otsego. they are beautiful.
  10. Thank god I have two TV's as that is my wifes favorite show as well.
  11. Thanks for correcting me. I meant to say the 14th. of april.
  12. Yes they catch fish. That is one of my best surface baits not just in spring but year round as I have landed some nice steelhead in the summer running this on a two color swr.
  13. Belive me when I say I was very suprised myself but you know the old saying be ware of a wolf in sheeps clothing. Good luck to all with a subtroll
  14. Just a reminder that next Thursday the 9th of april the new season of Deadliest catch will be starting as I remember alot of you like myself love this series. Lastnight they had season recaps on Discovery. If I were 20 years old again I would be gone trying to get on one of those boats. Now that Im 40 there is no way. That is a young mans game unless you have been doing it all your life.
  15. I have had many conversations with Duane over the past 3 years And reguardless of him having a bad day or not you cant talk to customers the way he talked with me. So my post was an fyi. I wish all the best that deal with Duane Reguardless .the unit was bought new and Is now going to be another $100 to repair. as it is done. I could get no feedback other then it had burned up components in it and according to his partner, Duane is the one doing the repairs. Out of three seasons Ive owned it, it worked 1. Duane was more then nice to me this time around as most guy in the customer service business are when you are paying the bill.
  16. Im sure they are as this time of year is very good fishing from pier if they are not getting salmon they will be catching browns in the harbor and almost anytime of year out of that port. Looking at the weather you might want to be carefull as they are calling for rough seas untill approximatly sunday when the wind will swing out of the east and then it will be a few days befor the fishing staightens out as that is the way it goes this time of year as it is going to cool down again. the harbor will be your best bet for fish.
  17. Your absolutly right Frank. I have bought lots of products over the years that could have been better but I kept buying them because the customer service for that product was excelent and customer service begins with people.
  18. thanks for the post. we are going to head down This Sat weather permitting.
  19. Three years ago I bought a Moore subtroll 900. It has worked 1 out of 3 seasons. I have spent much time trouble shooting and money replaceing cables rerouting them etc at the reccomendation of Duane at Moore Electronics. They finally told me to send the unit in. So on the 19th of march I mailed it in. They recieved it on the 23rd. I called last thursday and Hank Who was very nice told me that I should call to see where Duane is at with it on monday. I called Today and Got a hold of Duane. Explained What I had been told. And much to my supprise I was blamed for it not being fixed. Appearently I should not have called to check on MY subtroll that I payed almost 450 Deneros for and appearently I waited untill the last minute. I appologized to Duane for wasting his time and stated well I guess if it is my fault then it was my fault. I Have kept my oppinion to myself with all of the post about subtroll and depth raider and fish hawk because I really did not have an opinion. I have also been told by Duane that they almost never have any problems with there units which must not be true as he is two weeks behind in fixing them because he has so many. Bottom line Duane is Very rude for somone in the costomer service business and my reccomedation is stay away from sub troll. When I recieve mine back I will be glad to make somone a good deal on it as I will be buying a FishHawk asap.
  20. If it wasnt for the hour plus drive I would have taken a chance, instead I went to the Breslin Center in east lansing and watched the boys state Highschool basketball championships. I Graduated from Schoolcraft so I thought is would be cool to see if they could pull it off. came up a little short. The Breslin center is pretty cool.
  21. I was looking at the marine forcast To decide if I want to take the shakedown trip this weekend and noticed that The St.Joe forecast is calling for 1 to 2 and the southaven forecast is calling for a Small craft advisory with possible 4 to 7 footers.. Just a little bit of a difference there. shure does make it harder to make a decision..
  22. Jason You are correct they do mean Gary Indiana. This time of year most people troll the shoreline with a surface presentation of thin fins, tadpollys, hot n tots, wigglewarts, J11 and j13 rapalas. and penut flys. Most guys out of St.joe, not all, troll the trophs south to the power plant, Most guys fishing NB will either go north to the cook plant or south to gary. use caution when fishing none michigan waters that some areas reqire you to have a licence to fish there wateres. sounds like the fish are still south of NB yet. we need a good warm rain to get these fish moving north. I would definently target the 5' to 20' water as I have trolled for hours this time of year with nothing and all of a suddenly find a big school of cohos and its a chinese fire drill.
  23. Took this information from a friend that there are a set of Markers in the channel in St. Joe between the train bridge and the high bridge as you are heading out marking a buried cable that has floated up from the bottom. It is in the middle of the chanel from the discription I got. So Use caution. especially if going down river in the dark.
