  2. Thanks for the report Jim. That is alot of water you covered.
  3. WTG Mark. Sorry I could not have joined you.
  4. Thanks for the report. Sounds like they are all heading deeper out to the tempbreaks.
  5. Got a tip from a buddy that says the fish are Deep. They are taking fish between 220' and 280' in the top 60' of water. He fishes Grandhaven,Holland and Saugatuck. Notice there is no one reporting fishing over 180. Might want to check out deep this weekend. Looked at my Logs from past and Typically when the surface temp nears the high 50s low 60s in temp near the shore, I see a pattern of most of the fish I have caught 200 to 280' of water. there should be bait fish out there somewhere. Ive Tried talking him into looking at the site but he hates computors. He is a good fisherman. I will keep working on him and I belive when he sees what were all about he will like the site. I had his blessing to post this so thanks Dennis. Good luck to all this weekend and I will think of you while I am at work. I might not even be jellous.
  6. Im always thinking of fishing. just cant always do it. Have to work this weekend again. Good luck to all who go.
  7. I will let the walleye experts chime in but I believe they are dragging harnesses on the backend of the spoon and useing crawlers almost useing the spoon like a flasher with hooks and even without.
  8. Thanks for sharing the pics. I love those lake Ontario Salmon. they look like salmon stuffed with a football.
  9. Thanks for the pics. looks like it will be a fine supper.
  10. When pike fishing is slow Sucker minows or shinners work well on a big bobber sitting ontop of the weeds. I like a O size single hook rigged pacific coast live bait set up.
  11. Smoked up about 10lbs of salmon last night and tried a new brine Took a water bath canner pot and filled it with water untill salmon was well submerged. Next added 1/2 cup of sea salt. Then added 4 cups of Apple juice 1 cup of wosterchire sauce 1 cup of Teryachie sauce. 1 cup of Burbon. ( Whatever your falvor is, I used Jack Daniels) Let the fish soak in brine for 24hrs, Removed fish from brine. Pat dry with paper towel. and let air dry for about a 1/2 hour. Next I seasond the fish with old Bay. this is my favorite fish seasoning. Then put on the smoker. I do fish at 225 degrees for approx 2hrs depending on the sieze of each piece. Used apple wood and cheery. For fish I like alot of smoke. I will smoke it heavy for atleast 1 to 1.5 hours of the whole process. Very Tasty.
  12. Nice Jarrod. I still owe ya a trip on the silverone. Might be looking for some riders to take a weekend trip in July/Aug up to Luddington, Manistee.
  13. Thanks for the pic Andy. Glad to see there still getting fish out of southhaven.
  14. Last night Took out a nice Chinook fillet with skin on and made a foil boat out of tin foil. Skin down. Melted 2Tbl spoons of butter in a dish. then added 1Tbl spoon of minced garlic. then added 3Tbl of olive oil in the dish then mixed it all up. Next I took a basting brush and brushed the mixture all over the fish. after that I seasoned the fillet with old bay seasoning. Next I add sliced red onion over the fillet. then thinly sliced tomato. then Green Pepper. and then yellow and green zucinie sqaush also sliced thin. next I season the veggies with a little salt and pepper and then placed on the Grill over Charcoal. After about 20 to 25 min the fillet is done. Just before I pull it back off the grill. I took 2 cups of shredded Jalapino Chedder cheese and spread it over the fillet untill cheese melted then served. My son who does not like fish ate it and liked it. acutually asked for seconds. This was a great dish. My friend came up with the salmon pizza name and has done it other ways. the key is how you season it. Like Emeral says yo have to give each layer a little love.
  15. Nice Jarrod. thats good fishing for this time of year in southaven.as this is when it usally slows down untill mid to late july. What was the water temp?
