  1. Wtg guys. looked like a nice night to be out.
  2. I have all three. Yellow birds, church walley boards and off shore. I use each in specific set ups. Yellow birds I consider my early spring boards with lighter tackle, I run anything with any kind of lead on the walley boards. and I have my offshores set up with a little beefier clips for copper. If I had to pic a favorite I prefer the walley boards but its nice having specific setups so I dont have to use any extra time when setting lines. plus being different colors I dont have to look them over to see which goes were. just left and right.
  3. cool pic thanks for sharing.
  4. Bad day of fishing is better then a good day of work. Im sure before long you will be hammering them again.

  8. Sorry for the late report. first chance ive had at the computor this weekend Hit St.Joe for a shake down cruise on sat. Got lines set around 9.00am and trolled south to the Challetts. Ended up 5 for 8 with 1 nice brown and the rest Coho. Conditions are tought as the water was pretty murkey. had hits on riggers with clattertads 8' back 6 to 8' down. Also took fish on boards, brads thin fins, 00 orange doger and mirrage colored penut fly,and red tiger rapala. fished them 50' behind the board and from 150 to 100 out. pulled lines at noon. Everything orange red with some kind of copper patter. should get better once the water clears up. It was nice to be in a boat rather then standing on ice. The boys had fun. Had my son and his best friend andrew and my father in law with me. My son is holding the brown but my father in law caught it and it was his first brown ever. Good trip all in all. ignor the date on the bottom my camera date is messed up. in 03 my son would have been only 5.

  13. You staying in SH or are you running down to the Joe.
  14. Nice jason. What depth of water were you in and were you North or south of the harbor.
  15. Nice pics thanks for sharing. I like your boat set up. Am looking go to the same type setup in the future.
  16. Orange J 11 and J 13 rapalas and Heddon Tad pollys. Have also pulled in a few on the old heddon hot shots. Gold, orange and red seem to be the best color combinations. Have caught a few on thin fins.
  17. One good fishing trip will cure your seperation anxiety.
  18. I use seagar which is also Cabella's brand. Same company. Great stuff. Gama has also been dependable as I have been given some sample spools at fishing seminars. Most guys use Gama as it is a big sponser in greatlakes fishing tournements. I prefer seagar as most guys who chime into this thread will suggest the same brands. I personally have been satified with bolth brands. Good luck.
  19. Nice Jay D I am going to be fishing Manistee/luddington more this year probobly more then down here. Going to leave my boat up at my place in Baldwin by mid june and just finish the rest of the year up north this year. Cant wait. thanks for the report
  20. I insure mine threw my Auto insurrace agency. Now make sure that you look at your coverage. Because most boat insurance only covers the boat and trailer. I had to add coverage to mine for all the fishing equipment on it. It is still pretty reasonable. and even though my boat is an 1989 it Is covered for full replacement cost if the boat is totaled.
  21. Looked at the calander and Dates look good and I like the port selelction.
  22. If I remember right you trolled all the way to St.Joe.
  23. 30' here as well, I have fished longer but have had tangles when running alot of lines as the flouro/ mono lags on the turns more then the lead or copper it is attached to. 30' has been a good number and as suggested at past seminars and clinics by the pro's. But like 2unreel said, its a preference thing.
