  5. same here 3weeks and counting. its go to give soon. On a good note I have every friday off in may so something good has to come out of that. 4 3 day weekends in a row, one of those days has to be fishable.
  6. Keep looking to get out but due to the crappy weather Sat and Sun are a wash again. Is it me or is this spring windier then then the previous 5. I am limited to days and can fish and its almost like the fish gods are angry every friday, sat and sunday. anyone know of any rituails or chants we can do to calm them down. do we need to sacrafice something living or what. If so i have a cat that lives in my house that I hate.
  7. Thanks for the report Randy. Have you herd if anyone is out deep yet. Its about that time of year were the bait fish start showing up in that 150 to 200 area.
  8. Im on my fourth season since I put on the BigJon TR3s on each side of my boat and love them. If i ever rig another boat trees will be the first to get bolted on. The big advantage on a boat like my Islander is spreading rods out and on a smaller boat such as mine its a HUGE advantage.
  9. sometimes luck has a big hand in our choices and when they turn out good we look like geniuses however I will always admit to luck because Im far from a geniues.
  10. Im going to chime in here guys and just say that the fish yes are always out deep but with the weather and the currents the bait fish are going to hang out on the temp breaks. and somtimes it may only be a couple of degrees. So in tight one day were you have 41 degrees on the surface abd 38 degrees 10' down more then likely has moved out deep with all of the off shore wind we have had. On the Wisconson side the wind is always off shore so it makes sense that warmer water will be out deeper. You are always going to find fish in the river currents and the water shed that is part of the area you are fishing. But Jim made a good point there are always going to be fish shallow and deep. You just have to weigh your options and ask if the numbers are worth making a trip. Some days yes some days no. Remember that this time of year you are fishing cold water looking for warm water and later in the year you are fishing warm water looking for cold. Fish love temp breaks and it doesnt take much to get them excited in a particular area weather it be deep or shallow.
  11. Nice. thanks for the pics
  12. thanks for report terry. Did you mark and big balls of bait fish yet out in the deeper water?
  13. I second that it looks like a Guide series spoon from gander mountain. I have one I paid 99 cents for and it is killer for summer kinds its a crippled alwife and I dont remember the name but we call it the cheap voo doo lady spoon.
  14. Nice 3 for 3 in those conditions out of southaven is pretty good.
  15. good looking fish thanks for the report.
  16. Not sure what your reading but NOAA is what I am looking at as well, along with every other weather forecaster and all the forecast Match. It may turn out to be a nice day you never know but Im not taking chances and wasting a whole day just driving. Would not be the first time they have been wrong.
  17. After monitoring the wind and weather forcast for this comming weekend I am opting out for Sat. Near shore forecast calls for the lake Building overnight Friday, 3 to 5 feet. To rough for me, so I think we will be heading up to the cabin to do a little bluegill fishing and Mushrooming. Goodluck to anyone who ventures out, Be carefull its going to be a north wind.
  18. sweet pics. thanks for sharing. I want to be a uper when I retire. the wife is resisiting. but I told her I did not need her to become a one.
  19. Nice job J 1 musser and crew.
  20. Katrina. The fishing in St.Joe is second to none almost year round with there Steelhead fishery Not to mention it is the biggest fishery on the south end of the lake, on the michigan side. As you stated about the fish moving north, They do. Last year the fishing in southhaven was incredible last of april all the way threw the end of may. It was just as good in St.Joe. I will Go to southhaven if the fishing is just as good primarily because it is the closest port to my Home as is the case for alot of the guys. Saugatuck is almost as close and fishing can be outstanding there as well. So with that alot of it has to do with what port is economically accomidating when possible. That is not to say A fisherman would not spend a little extra money to go after fish as most on this site do.
  21. Nice pics. thanks for sharing.
