Haha the blonde is a seasoned veteran she is always ready but when you troll for hours on end with no hits not to mention sitting in the comfy bean bag chairs we where all ready to sleep and it was the brunettes first weekend of salmon fishing she was just enjoying the flat calm boat ride! I would have to agree with you Manistee is a very nice port city and we will definitely be visiting again hopefully with better results!

We made it into town late Thursday night around 1am after a long 4 hour ride. We caught a few hours of sleep then it was time to head to the ramp to launch the boat after a few wrong turns we were able to locate it and get the boat in the water just in time for the ladies tournament start. We headed straight out of Manistee where we heard of fish caught in recent days and set lines in 130 fow with 2 rods in the water the wire diver goes off my girlfriend grabs it and the girls get it in the boat it was a decent king on a white meat rig 180ft line out on counter. We then got the rest of the spread set up and couldn't get another bite so we pulled lines and ran south and set up in 150 fow same thing happens 2 rods in water and a wire diver goes off with another decent king on a white meat rig 200ft out on counter. We trolled the rest of the day with no other hits. We where pretty happy with our catch as we had never fished out of Manistee before we weighed our 2 kings for the ladies tournament but didn't place in the money. On Saturday we decided to set up south of Manistee in 150 fow where we had caught our 2nd fish on Friday and troll north. We couldn't buy a bite we tryed everything from 220-80 fow changed baits and bait depths speed and direction just couldn't get the fish we marked to bite we had the first skunk on the boat in a long time and it was all caught on camera as we were being filmed again for the 333 SALMON SHOWDOWN. Our main focus on Sunday was to just catch something to put us on the board but we where really hoping for 3 nice fish for the 333 but unfortunately that didn't happen. We set lines in 130 fow straight out of Manistee and trolled south. We did manage to get a decent steelhead on a orange spoon on a 3 color and a dragger king on a blue/green dolphin. Fishing seemed to be very tough for everyone. All in all we still had a great time and enjoyed the area even though we couldn't get the fish to cooperate this was our 6th tournament in a row and the last one until Holland in August unless we decide to do one in between. We are looking forward to doing some fun fishing around us as we have been traveling to so many different ports we have not been able to fish our home waters here in Indiana. Thanks to all of our sponsors for your support so far this season! Here are some pictures enjoy!

We headed up to South Haven, MI late Thursday night so we could fish the SHYC 5 FISH CHALLENGE on Friday as a warm up. The lake was pretty churned up Friday but we where able to land a few fish but nothing to place us well in the tournament. We had a fairly good idea where to find the fish on Saturday day 1 of the South Haven pro/am we found them just couldn't get more to bite we ended up with 9lb laker and a 10lb king both came on a white and blue meat rig on a wire slide diver 120ft line out on counter. Those two fish didn't do us too much good as most boats brought in some nice catches. We did however make the decision to weigh the king we had caught in the 333 as it was over 10lbs but decided to not weigh the laker because most of the kings caught where in the 10-13lb range. On Sunday day 2 of the South Haven pro/am we headed to almost the same area again in hopes that we could get the fish we marked the day before to bite. We did end up getting a nice king on meat rig 90ft out on counter and missed another on a rigger but that was it we scraped up a small coho then decided to make a run south to pick up some lake trout but didn't have any success. We ended up weighing our king for 333 but unfortunately got stuck with weighing our small coho we where kicking ourselves for not weighing the laker the day before but that's how it goes sometimes! Our beat depth of water for the weekend was 85-105fow top 50 feet straight out of South Haven pier heads. We have been extremely busy with this upcoming tournament in Onekama, MI being our 6th in a row and last one for a while we can't wait and hopefully we can get the fish to cooperate we have never fished this area so it will be a new experience for us. Here are some pics enjoy!

We headed up to ST. JOE on Friday after work to do some pre fishing for the Schu's Summer Challenge shootout on Saturday. We got the boat launched and ready to go and then of course it started storming so we were unable to do any pre fishing. Saturday morning arrived with some morning showers that made it less than perfect for fishing but the lake was calm we ran to where we heard of good action the day before. We set lines in 95 fow and worked out to 140 fow when the lake started to churn up we decided to make a turn and start heading shallower we trolled all the way back to 50 fow before pulling lines to head to weigh in. We managed to scrape up 4 lake trout and a coho most fish came on rigger down 74 with veggie spoon also a 200 copper took a couple fish blue spoon. We could only weight 5 fish and only 3 lake trout out of the 5 so we ended up weighing our 3 biggest LT and a coho which put us in 7th place in the amateur division. We decided to take my mom out fun fishing on Sunday for mothers day we set lines in 65 fow at 9:30am and worked out to 95 fow then turned and trolled back to 45 fow weather was miserable with wind and rain so we decided to call it a day we only managed 1 laker but at least mom got to reel it in! It was a decent weekend all besides the rain and slow fishing we are looking forward to better weather and results at our next tournament in South Haven, MI! It was a rainy weekend so wasn't able to get as many pictures but here are a few!
