  1. almost all of mine are clear.
  2. Note, carring waders is much less tiresome. Wear your sneakers, and carry your waders in and out on thsoe long trecks. Been there done that. Sounds like you guys had a great weekend.
  3. Man you got some really deep water over there. I'm lucky to see 70' here on Erie.
  4. Nice job Adam. Can you post a picture of the inline you are talking about? I think I know what you mean, but, I would be happier if I could see a picture of it. Thanks, Bill
  5. I finally got out on the lake for awhile yesterday. Was myself, my fishing partner Rich, and my son Josh. We went out and trolled the same area off the beach in front of Mentor Lagoons, as I had in the log from last year Fathersday weekend. And the fish are there again. The fish were scattered pretty good, due to the storms we have been having for the past 3-4 days, with a mud line out there almost a half a mile from shore. But, all in all it was a great way to spend Fathers Day. We ended the day with only 3 for 4 fish in the box. First fish in the box, a 28" walleye (fish Ohio) weighed in at 6# 11 oz. Second and third were almost identical, 4# fish. And I dropped 1 at the back of the boat. Also, as a bonus, the Coast Guard Aux. boat came over to pay me a visit. Had planner boards out, and he wants to talk ! ! lol About this time, Josh gets a very nice tangle going on the starboard side, so I bring the board in close so I can see what this guy wants to talk about. And he proceeds to ask me if I lost a planner board? Nope, got both of mine out there. lol Then he says do you want one? Well Like any fisherman would, I accepted his offer. He hands me off one of those big white boards that Capt. Ray makes and markets from ArouraLites Tackle. Thank You very much ! ! ! What a nice present to get on Fathersday.
  6. on my boat, the stingers are almost all the small ones. I use a lot of them, also harnesses, and stick baits. Once you find a pattern that works stick with it but, until then throw an assortment at them, they will hit something ! lol
  7. Lake Erie off Mentor Lagoons (Chagrin - Fairport) Well the guys are getting some limits of very nice Jumbo Yellow perch, in front of the Lagoons, in 37 feet of water. Talk with Doug yesterday, he and Jim were out and got there 50 in an 1 1/2 hrs. They did that a couple days in a row, stocking up the freezers. Also the walleye are being taken with good numbers in the 20-25 fow just off the shore line. I need to get my boat in the water this weekend ! Will update as I can.
  8. I really do miss that area. It was really nice being able to setup after only run out for a mile or so, instead of the way it gets here in summer, have to run 10+ miles some days just to find the fish. But, I like it here, at least for now.
  9. I am going in the water this weekend also. Will post results. According to my logs from last year, fish were in the 20-25' range. Jets and harnesses were the top producers, off the boards.
  10. Well now, we are talking about my old stomping grounds here.lol I miss it too. Ok, the way I did it was basically the same way as you describe, 1.8-2-5 mpg, faster as the water warms. When fishing out of the small boat harbor, we used to head for the departure bouy, start there in 40 fow, and troll west. Usual setup was with dipsey divers, with the small Stinger spoons and worm harness's. All were run at the same speed, but were staggered in depth and distance from the boat. I also used them from the planner boards, and jet divers. And for some reason, we always had 1 rod with a stinger, at the inside corner of the boat, with a large dipsey set on zero, back 35' feet from the rod tip. and it always took fish! ! And be SURE to try some of Captain Dans spoon-harness rigs, they are killer on the eyes ! ! ! Also, I found that mostly "copper" was a better choice for that part of the lake.
  11. Yeah I figured you guys slammed the slabs, and here is Frank being a great guy that he is!. Way to lend a hand. Hopefully he will learn his lesson from this.
  12. I for one would like to say "Thank You" for trying to help someone in need of assistance. I have been in the same situation, a time or two, where I have needed help. And someone like you has come to my aid. I do the same thing, and try to "lend a helping hand" Just some folk's out there that think just because they have remedied the problem, "it's OK" to just leave. The forget all about the person that has dropped everything to come to there aid. Again, Thank You for looking out for someone in need.
  13. Great Job Frank ! Good to hear that someone is out fishing. Hopefully, I will get out sometime this summer. lol I haven't even seen my boat yet this year.
  14. Great job Hunter. Keep up the good work.
  15. I have and still do run as many as 6 lines off each side with the big boards. It's all a matter of spacing and paying attention to what you are doing. Also, instead of using the Dacron line, I use the plastic "weed whacker" line on mine. Be sure to use the "round", and I think it is .065 diameter. Then I go to the dollar store and get the round plastic shower curtain hooks for $1 a dozen. and use these with a rubber band.
  16. Well sir, I have to admit. I am the same way. If I am into a good school of fish and someone asks for help, I will help them. I feel there are plenty of fish there and there is no reason for me to be secretive.
  17. Do you mean you don't tell them what they want to hear?
  18. Sure, put it on the edge, that way it will wear off faster!
  19. Here is a video that we are using.
  20. Thank You Both, that's a start.
  21. Guys and Gals I need your help. Myself and a couple other folks are putting together a presentation showing the good things that sportsmen and women do. These could be donating venison to the food bank, helping with stock or raising birds, what have you. Anything that helps to show sportsmen and women in a positive light. If anyone has any links to these types of things that can be used as good public relations material, Please post your links here. The layout for this project so far is a Pro Fur, Pro Game, Pro Fish. We are going to use the positives that we get to offset the negatives that the animal rights folks are spreading. Thank You in advance for your help, Bill. Oh yeah, when we get this thing up and running I will post links to the site.
  22. I usually just get it, install it on the boat, and then when she see's it I tell her, yeah Honey I told you about that lol. Sometimes it works, sometimes I get in hot water.
  23. Nice pictures Ken. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Cool pic's. Thanks for sharing
