  1. New Salmon Showdown Season 7 As of last Friday new season is showing. However, it is no longer available on the Pursuit Channel or later on Youtube. But, it will be on Carbontv. You can also view it directly from the Toutnament Trail website, tournamenttrail.net. Last week was Grand Rapids weigh in 1 and next week will be weigh in 2. A new episode will be posted every Friday morning (According to Scotty Mac). Enjoy!
  2. coralee, rhanks for comment. I always emptied filter in the fall, put new dry filter on in the spring, squeeze primer bulb until stiff and she starts right up Easy to winterize: ran gas out of system, drained the above filter and drained engine gas vaporizer (per manual), fogged cylinders and Stabil in gas tank. Last fall had oil and lower unit oil changed by marina so had them winterize it at the same time. Should have said I have 130HP Honda 4 stoke outboard not an I/O which may require a lot more cranking!
  3. Winterizing Boat - Fuel/Wtr Filter Just changed out my fuel/water separator filter on my boat and it was full of gas. Marina winterized my boat for the first time last fall. When I winterized it I would always drain gas n water from the filter. Haven't had a chance to call marina today. What is the standard practice? Thanks!!!
  4. F & Stream does have worms/nite crawlers in the fridge but that's all I remember!!
  5. No, don't think so; a lot like Gander Mtn, Cabelas n Dicks. But, D & R Sports is just a few miles from there; take M43 west out of town (131 Exit 38) west about 3 miles west of 131 on north side. They have all kinds of live bait and great tackle.
  6. Kazoo Field & Stream Store Just picked up grandkids in Lazoo n finally had a chace to stop there (BL94 just east next to Costco, can see it from 131 North). Good fishing n hunting depts. Has quite a bit of salmon and walleye stuff. Been to the one by Oakland Mall but the Kazoo one is better. Bought 10 colors of Suffix lead on clearance for $12 and some nice boxes for spoons.
  7. Yeah last summer our Jackson store size increased like 6 times bigger then the old store and has a decent fishing dept n now they r closing. I'm bummed!!!! No great sales yet!
  8. Try Walmart, too. I have always been able to get new ones with proper dates at our Walmart in Jackson. Paid around $23 the other day.
  9. Safety Flares Don't forget to check the expiration date of your boat flares; they expire every 42 months
  10. Dipsey Long Leads? I use 8-10' leads, what do you use? is there an advantage with long leads? I personally don't think so! See lot of boats on Salmon Showdown use long leads and have to handline fish to net! Thanks!
  11. Perchers in SoHa need minnows!!!!
  12. IF city can get access to the launch they may get docks in earlier than 4/15. Also, sometime this summer they will replace two docks.
  13. Nice rig Martin. Here's update from city eng, Larry, who replied to my email. The goal is to restore temp access to the launch by 4/1. A gravel access drive will connect to Dunkley Ave, south of WWTP. He didn't mention docks by 4/1. I'll email him back about them. Permanent access by 7/1.
  14. Yeah Martin, last year I left my boat on the trailer at Pier 1000 in St Joe until May when I started going to SoHa.
  15. Yes as far as I know not until 4/15. However, even though all the docks have been pulled, there is a dirt apron west of restrooms that I used to drive around and come in through parking lot south of the restrooms. If you can launch w/o a dock maybe you could use it.Not sure about what city would say. If you want to get in earlier call Harbormaster. She was very nice on the phone. Use City general number and ask for the harbormaster. Seems like last year when we launched in St Joe on 3/29 only one dock was in. But, night after I bad mounted them a few days later all 3 docks were in and the big dead trees had been dragged to the back on the parking lot. Enjoy this summer weather n have a fun/safe 2017 fishin season.
  16. Your welcome; I got really worried; it's a mess. I left message at City Hall and Harbormaster called me back in a few minutes. At SoHa for a few days at my son's lake house 3 blocks from the lake n 6 blocks south of downtown!
  17. South Haven City Launch There is big time sewer constructuon at the launch entrance and road. But, Harbormaster callwd me back and she said one way or another the launch will be open at the usual time starting 4/15.
  18. Welcome aboard Salmon Jim
  19. Hooter, size 3.5?
  20. Maglip Body Baits Been watching a few fishing shows where they have been using Yakima Maglip body baits for lakers. Anyone use them? Success? Thanks, Dan
  21. If u r available please text me at 517-750-7452. Thks. Capt Dan
  22. Short report. Went 3 for 5; small laker and king and dink coho that we threw back. Lost a big steelie when he made a run into one of the lead core boards and knocked himself off. Coho and king came on Capt John King Green Froggie Salmon Spoon on dipsey out 125. Big steelie came on the slider on last's week's same purple, bk, silver thin spoon on free slider with main down 55'. All fish came in 108 to 112 fow pretty much straight out from pier heads. Had 3 1/2 hour delay to wait out morning storm. Launched are ound 10:30, set around 11:00 and pulled lines around 2:45. 2-3s going out that eventually built up to prob 3-5s as we were coming out. Cleared up nice with sun out all day after storm went through. "Hockey Puck" ON THE REEL WOMAN Agnello
  23. Time fished: 8-130 Area fished (GPS lat/lons 0ptional): south to a little north of piers Best depth of water to be over: 106 Most productive troll direction: E Depth of hits: 50 Rigger lead lengths: 20' Number of fishermen aboard: 3 Best lures & colors: purple/grey/silver thin spoon Surface temp: Down temp for hits (if known): 62-66 Troll speed: 2-3 Number and kind of fish caught: 1 Steelie; 10lb 11 ounces Reel commentary: There were a few boats fishing piers but we decided to go out deeper. Fished 70-170 straight out and no hits; we did have 3 knock offs on riggers probably sliders that didn't hook up. Had just switched to that grey/pur/sil spoon on main and slider and the steelie hit main hard. Thought it was only 8-9 pounds, but my digital scale said almost eleven; it was a fat steelhead. Usually they are long and lanky. Lot of fleas in the water and we marked a lot of flea clouds near the top. Very few marks and no laker marks for us to bounce the bottom, but a gorgeous day on Lac Mich "Hockey Puck" ON THE REEL WOMAN Agnello Browns Kings 2 Coho 15 Lakers 5 Steelies 1 Walleye Sheephead White Bass Perch
