Commissioned by the International Joint Commission, the Upper Great Lakes Study area includes lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron and Erie, and their interconnecting channels (St. Marys River, St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair, Detroit River and Niagara River), up to Niagara Falls.
