  1. thanks cuz i would have bought the black ones not knowing about the orange ones.saved me bunch of money there
  2. looking at ordering 10 talora rods from you next week as your prices are good and you have the best selection in stock. wondering if you have any promos or rebates going? if not ill still be ordering from you just never hurts to check. thanks for your time

  3. ill be fishing salmon in algoma or kewaunee. ill be pulling 27# leadcore with 50# powerpro backer with a piece of 30# mono for connecting the release; thanks to all of you for the info on the line setup.lures i have are spoons, flasher/fly combos and j plugs.its my first time with my own boat so trying to learn. ive been out a fair amount with others in the past 30 yrs, mostly charters, but have never seen anyone run planer mast.
  4. ive never used planer riggers but seeing as how i mounted a duel electric mass i believe ill be using one. was wondering what everyone prefers using for releases and were best place to order them is, before i invest more money unwisely.was thinking the offshores but like i said i got no clue.
  5. got a new mast from fishing and hunting usa..........awesome question about wiring. says to wire with 10awg which is what i had planned as it will be a good run from box to switch to motor. confusion comes from switch that came with it has 12' of 16 gauge on 1 side and 10' of 14 gauge on other with 10amp breaker in switch.should i use switch and or wire included or get different wire and or switch.
  6. am getting surge interuption on start of downriggers, and rope lights i.e rope lights interupt radio' downriggers interupt spreader lights. i used 10 gauge 4 the downriggers about 20' and 16 gauge 4 rope lights. 2 separate fuse boxes with 10 gauge from battery to box. not a electrician, have no clue. am thinking i need heavier wire gauges or a battery isolator? would a third battery help? or am i thinking in the wrong direction? sorry 4 my ignorance and thanks 4 input in advance.
  7. looking for a rack type slip n boat storage in algoma for my 24' regal. closest thing iv'e found, thanks to slamdunk, is salmon harbor in kewaunee. salmon harbor offers exactly what i'm looking for but would like to see if there are any good options in algoma before i sign a contract. as always thanks in advance for all input.
  8. thanks drive unit is what i was concerned with, i can always adjust control head placement but steering shaft is where it goes lol. 6" gives me what i need to know though, again thanks much.
  9. before i drill holes 4 switches wondering how much room does the sportpilot wheel assembly need so i can leave enough room 4 when i get around to buying 1 hopefully next month.
  10. going to set up,have little 2 no experience with them. my idea is to put electrics on the radar arch. im sure theyll be high enough but my question is will the planer reel being to close to the rod holders be an issue, probably looking at 1.5' between motor and holders.
  11. im in the process of repowering my 24' regal, was thinking of running 3 big optimas but i notice most folks on here seem to be talking about 2 batteries. i eventually plan on running all avaliable toys i.e. 4 downriggers, auto pilot, radar, spreaders etc. etc. as always any thought appreciated.
  12. lol just got my boat end of last year, time to go out in it once, but i already have damned near 200 spoons not counting flashers flies and plugs. let the learning process begin. i will say my inland tackle box is ongodly overstocked at about 70 pounds worth and i use 4 lures regularly out of the thousand. thanks for the article very good read and informative.

  24. like the idea of being able to adjust my downriggers but not sure i trust the idea of the pedastal in the track holding a 12# ball. anyone ever use em or have any info/exp. with how they hold up?
  25. installing 4 magstx10 can i run 2 through same wire if i only operate 1 rigger at a time? just dont want 2 run 2 15footers if not needed as theres only room 4 1 person to work in each corner of the boat anyway. thoughts appreciated as always.
