  1. Kens chart is also what I use.
  2. Great job, Im hopeing to get down there next weekend.
  3. Now this is the most truthful thing Ive read yet. Get your degree and your capt. license , then pursue the dream of being a capt. after you have a secure job. In todays economy, your degree and job are the most important thing next to your family. And like some one said before, I now many capt. and they all have a full time job doing something else, any more unless you have a big bank role to begin with , it just supplemental income. Like you, Ive always dreamed of being a capt., its just to risky for my taste.
  4. nice job ed
  5. This is exactly the way I do it, and have never had any issues.
  6. Like silver one said , heres a couple of my reports from last spring. I left the dock thursday in hopes to do a little prefishing for the brown blast. Well that was a very productive day finishing 31 for 40+ ,with 27 coho ,1 small steelhead, 1 nice laker and 2 very nice kings. With several kings and lakers lost .These were all taken from the a frames to the plant. with divers out 40, riggers down 14 and 18 and 2 colors and hi lines on the boards. Heres the pic of Thursday. Well after that catch I thought we had something figured out. So Saterday we ran down the the same spot and could not find anything to speek of and ran back a little north and found nothing more than all the cohos a person could catch, we ended the day 21 for 26 all coho So heres the. pic of the catch and also what worked the last to trips. This is one of my reports from last spring, the baits are what i mainly run i also mix in some small dodgers and flys from time to time but mostly small spoons and boddy baits.
  7. Looks like something to do with the first batch of coho's , FOR SURE!
  8. Jason, by forgiveing I mean it is much easier to set a line for some one that dos not have a lot of experince fishing with copper do to it being less ridged than the 45. and you have a lot less chance of it back lashing in the spool if you not paying attention. I do also have 4 rods with the 45 lb on them ,and they are long ,a pair of 300 and 350s.
  9. 32 do's not run at the same sink rate as lead core, for instence, 10 colors or lead core runs on average of 40 ft, this is a length of 300 ft, to acheive the same 40 ft in depth with 32 lb copper you need to run 200 ft of line. And to get that in 45 lb copper you only need 150.ft of line out. So in my opinion why would you want to run 45 lb copper that is a little less forgiveing to save 50 ft on of cranking, and take the greater risk of haveing a issue. I have 12 rods on the DOG all spooled with 32 and love it for the ease. Just my 2 cents.
