  1. great job duane , i was going to go last sunday but it looked like rain most of the day
  2. i agree with jim, most of the time ive only got 2 to 3 persons on the boat , however , there where many mornings that we where done by 9 am and then would go and get some perch , sea-mac will testify to this :D now that was a fun day
  3. well i did not make it to muskegon yesterday morning {raidar showed rain here till noon} so i decided to do a little pike fishing on one of the small back waters off the rabbet river that i yoused to fish a lot as a kid growing up in hamiton no that was a true walk down memory lane ,and i even cought 4 nice pike rangeing from 24 to 33 inches all on number 5 mepps anglas ,with a white buck tail , all where released to catch another day
  4. this is just a question, do's any one no, or still fish on muskegon or white lk for perch this time of year, i yous to do this up till about 10 years ago and would do very good at times {all the way to ice up} and was thinking about going in the very near future ,"becouse my deer season in not going so well" and im going STIR CRAZY and have not been out fishing in 3 weeks so if the weather man permits i will do this in the morning or go chase gills and spec one more time:D
  5. this is a very good read, and brings some very good thoughts to mind, as you said , i only take people out that want fish for the table , and when where perch fishing a limet is a limet and ya go in , becouse that is a very presoice resouce that is now starting to come back in lk. mi.

  7. i normaly run a 5 ft. peice of 15 lb maxuma from the dacron to the the hook with a set up simular to yours , only i yous red beeds and a silver or gold spinner my reson for nothing heavyer is becouse most pike have lost most of there larger teeth by mid jan when the ice get good down in this neck of the woods
  8. funny you guys mentoin this one , becouse i was thinking the same thing , as last summer one day i was out with an old freind that i fish with a lot, and we where haveing a little bit of a tough morning ,with only 4 fish in the box after 3 hours of fishing he said let try some of the old stuff we used to yous back in the early 70's so i went down below and came out with a box of oldys but goodies such as old north port nailers and south port slamers ,sutton spoons in size 22 and 44 chargers and some fub wobblers we switched over to a old school spread of a 22 sutton spoon ,a dr. hook nailer , a white with green dot mueler and a bud wieser nailer on the riggers with no sliders and the divers with the old tin can dodger and green horse fly and the other side had a pearl dodger and white horse fly, p.s. there was no core, all old school we ended the morning 9 for 9 6 kings and 3 lakers with the best bait being the 22 sutton spoon and the budwieser nailer ,we did this to see if we could still do it old school and man did it bring back some old memories and storys of days gone by!
