  5. Hey Rob, I had some time this morning and thought that I would email the DNR my self to find out the truth about your (?) on the fish limit. This is what they told me: Response (Lynne Thoma) - 03/20/2006 10:09 AM There is no truth to the rumor. The regulations in place this year will remain until March 31, 2008. Many of our species have a (5) fish limit now. At this point, I see no changes in possession limits Well there you go, Rich
  6. Fishing Times: 6:00am-1:00pm River Conditions: High and a little muddy. Fish: 2 Steelhead (2 females) Lures: Small Yellow Hot N Tot and small chrom and black Hot N Tot. Well started by putting the boat in at the bridge at 6am and boated down stream a long ways. I turned the boat around and started my troll back up stream. We trolled for about 20 min. and had I had my first fish on. Then about 3 hours later as we was still trolling we had on our 2nd fish on. Today we went 2 for 2 with two really nice females. One of the females had all her eggs all spawned out. It was a great day on the river today. Good luck fishing, Caznik
  7. What a great start of the day it was, First off my woman and I thought we meet up with Sixshooter, catfishhoge, Bluedevil, Severus andTrout Tracker for breakfast at big boys off Pearl St and just got together and did alot of talking while eating some great food. Then we all headed over to the Grand Rapids Sport show to check out the great fishing tackle that they had. Well I ended up taking with me about $100.00 and thought Id get alot of stuff. Well I sure didn't get to much there, to me the prices wasn't any cheaper than if you went to the store and bought it. But I did get a good deal on some Hootchies for $5.00 each. Well out of my $100.00, I ended up getting was 2 yellow tail siver streak lures, 2 Hotchies, 2 Dipseies, and a big tackle box for all my lures and that was it. The show was great but I hope next year the fish dog company will be there. There prices on there web site was better than the show prices there. Well lets see what everyone had purchased at the show to, and see what you thought of it. Rich PS: Severus has a hot new lure that Sixshooter had bought him for fishing, you have to see it.

  9. Ok Fishermen I did get all the answers to all my ? that I had for this thread from the DNR and the U.S. Coast Guard. U.S. Coast Gaurd------- Hi Rich, Thank you for your e-mail. The answer to you e-mail can be found in Subchapter C - Uninspected Vessels, Title 46, Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) Part 24.10-1 Definitations. Specifically, Consideration - means an economic benefit, inducement, right, or profit, including pecuniary payment accruing to an individual, person, or entity BUT NOT INCLUDING voluntary sharing of the actual expenses of the voyage by monetary contribution or donation of "fuel", food, beverage, or other supplies. Passenger-for-hire means a passenger for whom consideration is contributed as consideration for carriage on the vessel, whether directly or indirectly flowing to the owner, charter, operator, agent or any other person having an interest in the vessel. Coast Guard mariner credentialing and Regional Examination Center (REC) information is available on the Internet at www.uscg.mil/STCW. Fish on!!!!! I think that in the past, someone was probably arrested or ticketed for running an illegal charter and the charter fees were being disguised as "gas money." People will always find creative ways to operate illegal fishing charters, so I would recommend caution when asking for monetary help when fishing. Well what do you all to think about this now. To me you can ask a friend or a member on any web site to help go in half of the cost of gas or the fishing trip. AS LONG YOU DO NOT MAKE A PROFIT. Caznik

  11. Ok guys, This morning I happen to have a little bit of time to email the DNR my thoughts about is it wrong to ask friends or buddies to split the cost in the gas money for fishing on Lake Michigan. Well this is what this lady happen to say about it: Response (Jaqueline Waber) - 03/15/2006 11:00 AM Helping a friend out with the cost of gas is not illegal or considered running an unlicensed fishing charter. I think that in the past, someone was probably arrested or ticketed for running an illegal charter and the charter fees were being disguised as "gas money." People will always find creative ways to operate illegal fishing charters, so I would recommend caution when asking for monetary help when fishing. Well there you go right from the DNR there selfs. Now I did email the coast guard also about the same subject what I happen to ask the DNR. So far I have not yet received an email from the coast guard. Rich

  14. Ok guys, I have a BIG ? about getting help on gas money during your fishing trips. I am not trying to start anything here but there is a guy on a web site that is telling me that it is against the law for your friends to help you out with the gas cost on any fishing trip that you happen to take. I will not give out any names that is telling me this, but I think hes been in the house to long and wants to get out fishing:D . There was a posting in the politics about gas and how much it cost now. Yes the gas prices are going up and we cannot do nothing about it. But On the thread I happen to say this.(Ya I know, those gas prices really suck. You will just have to get your fishing buddies to help out on the gas bill this year. Man it will really suck if it gos up to $3.00 a gallon). Now he is telling me that it is against the law for what I had said on this posting because I told people here that to get your friends and help pay for gas. Last year when I made a posting on the MS web site for my fishing league I did put on there that if you want to be a crewman with any of the captians here on the web site that you will have to probly pitch in $25.00 in gas money and for the event fee. Well later on I got a phone call from a charter captain telling me that I was breaking the law by telling other fishermen that they will have to pitch in for gas money. Well I do see the charter captains point there because he told me that I was chartering fishermen on my boat. Whitch I wasn't at all, it was to get guys on the web site out and go fishing with other members. So then later on I had the moderator take it off for me because I did thought that I was doing something wrong at the time. So is there someone on this web site that can find the law and post it for me that says that you cannot take gas money from friends period on a fishing trip. Now there is probly a law somewhere saying that if I happen to post something says, need fisherman to go fishing me this weekend and also need help on gas cost. Remember I am not trying to start anything here, but like to know about this law if there is any. I cannot beleive that your friends cannot help in gas money cost if they want to go fishing with you. Rich

  16. Fishing Times: 8:00am-1:00pm River Conditions: High and a little muddy. Fish: 1 Steelhead and a Small Walleye Lures: Small Yellow Hot N Tot Well started out being a great day fishing on the river first thing. In the morning we started at the bridge at Allegan and motored down stream. We went a long ways down before we turned around and started to troll back. Well Sarah C and I put on our lures we made the first cast of the day. As we started trolling back up stream, Sarah C yelled SNAG. It wasn't 5 minutes and he was allready snaged. I thought, ok lets go back and see if we can get it out. Soons I was thinking about turning around. I yelled FISH ON! Hot darn I have the first steely of the day. While Sarah C was getting his lure back I just remembered I forgot the fish net. Oh man now how are we going to get the fish. As I was fighting it, Rob (Sarah C) thought he get in the back of the boat to grab it by his hands. Man he about tiped us over when he happen to fall to the side of the boat. After about 10 minutes of the fight, Rob grab the fish out of the river and we had a nice 6lb. hen. Then later on I had another hit and caught a small walleye with the same hot n tot. The river conditiond was not the best in the world. It was kinda high and the water was very cloudy. We seen three other boats and they didn't have any fish. Probly be better Sunday to get your Lake Michigan boat ready for fishing than to fish the river. Good luck fishing, Caznik
  17. Here try this....... http://www.ebaumsworld.com/lionhunt.html
  18. Man, I don't know if any of you guys seen this vidieo or not of the lion hunt. But this is pretty unsafe hunting and what would you think if that big cat was going at you that way. Looks like that one hunter shot at the other hunter. Forget lion hunting I will stick with deer and small game. Caznik http://www.ebaumsworld.com/lionhunt.html
  19. Ok guys, I just baught two full core riggs this year for fishing on the big lake. Last year Sarah C used them on my boat a few times and we caught some fish with them on spoons. Has anyone tried to use like Long A Bombers or J- Plugs on the full core stuff. If so, how far down does the stuff run. I was thinking about trying to put J-Plugs on this fall for kings but don't know if they will work or not. Caznik
