Hey Hunt4ever, Its looking more like you better get on the ball with Norhtern King. It looks like everyone want to do it. Let me know very soon, Rich Ok everyone, Brian and I talked for 45 min and we like to get 4reg spoons, 4 mag spoons, and two flies. Just to let you all know. But can you beat the CAZZZZZZZ

I think because of the long 60' leader is because just in case of a break off. If you have to retie after a fish breaking you off about 10' of your leader than you will still have 50' left. I think this is so you do not have to tie off your lead core again. Rich
-
No you do not any roller guides on your fishing rod. But you should at least use a 9 1/2' rod because the little extra pull with the lead core. But when you run this SWR rod make darn sure it is your deepest rod down. Also do not run any flasher or J-plug next to it. For some reason when I do it gets to be a very bad tangle mess and I dont understand why that whould be because the core being out so far and the flashers up closer to the ball. Good luck, Rich

Yes if this passes it will be part of the fishing league and the scores will count to. That was my plans to, Cazz

If you can just get one rod and thats it. If you have a buddy that fishes the big lake also go in half with him on the full core stuff and split the core in half. Just tring to help you out on the cost. I know how much this type of fishing can get. Cazz

You run full core rod on your riggers to when fish are deep? I was wondering about doing that at times. Cazzzz

Hello Members, Just thought that Id tell you new fishermen or wekend warriors about this other weapond called the full core rod. This kind of weapon rod can be a real pain in the a:angry2: somedays. I mean do you ever hear on your radio while you are out fishing about guys running over each other lead core out there. I kept hearing that seams like every time I go fishing out there and I told my self that Id never get that stuff because it just sounds like a pain in the a:angry2: to run. Well last year I took the challange and got the crazy stuff and man does it work good. Lots of times that was the only stuff that I could catch my fish with. But if you do get it and happen to start running it, you must be on the defensive side of fishing out there at all times. Just because guys will go right behind your boat and they get pretty close to. I do not recomend you running this stuff at night though because you are taking a big chance on getting caught with another boat out there. The kind of rod I like to use is a 9 1/2' Daiwa dipsy rod with a CV45D Convector reel with a counter on it. My backing I use is called 30# spider wire stealth and then I tie on my 100 yards of Mason lead core with 60' of 20# test leader on it. What I do is let out all 60' of leader out, with the 100 yards of full core out, and then put out what ever you please with your spider wire then tie on your walleye board on it and let it go out more. You can use any size spoon and J-plugs with this rod. Last year the full core was really hot for me and helped me out at the weigh ins at lots of tournaments that I was in. Just remember to when you put this crazy stuff out make sure your drag is pretty lose, just enough that you can hear the drag clicking a little bitt. This crazy stuff really works good and will build your mussle alot to reeling in all that line. You sure will get tierd out fast when you have a hog on. Well if you happen to try this good luck and have a great time fishing this year. Caznik

Well I have manual downriggers on my boat. So if I can prevent me from lowering those rigger any deeper. It sure takes alot of work out for me when I have to retreive them releases back up. Caznik

Oh ya, Dowriggers and dipsys are the ticket for me also to catch alot of fish. But there has been days for me when that SWR rod did more for me than all the other stuff on my boat. Caznik

Hey all you new members, Have any of you members ever heard on the radio while you are out fishing on Lake Michigan that we have taken a fish on a SWR rod. Well let me tell you something you better have one ready for your boat this year. It is a great fishing weapon for fishing on Lake Michigan. I had a lot of fish hit that rod alot last year and you better give it a try to. What a SWR rod is, a rod that has two colors of lead core on the line. How I rig a SWR rod is with 20# test mono for the backing, then you take two colors of lead core and tie it to your backing line. Then you use 60 feet of 20# test mono for your leader and you tie that on your lead core to. The kind of fishing rod I use is a 8 1/2 foot Daiwa downrigger rod with a CV30D Okuma Convector reel with a line counter. The lead core I use is called Mason lead core and you get it in 100 yards with ten colors. Now last year any kind of size spoon worked very well for me. Then later on in August I started using J-PLugs and they did the most of the fish catching for me. Now how to use this weapon rod is to let out all your leader line and your 20 yards of lead core out. Than I reset the counter and put it back 30-40 feet behind the cannon ball. But make darn sure it is your deepest rod down in your spread. Never fish a flasher or J-plug next to this rod. I allways seem to get all tangled up when I do this. Well I hope this year you will get you a SWR rod rod ready for your fishing arsenel and catch more fish. Good Luck, Caznik
