Hello Member's, This morning my two friends at work got up really early to go out crappie fishing at a private lake called Lower lake in Barry co. Man we stared fishing at 4:45am and was hoping to get in some crappies first thing. But the one fisherman and I was crappie fishing and nothing would hit at all. It was 5am now and the other fishing buddy was going for bluegills and started catching them at dark. This was the first time I ever caught bluegills in the dark fishing through the ice. So the other guy and I then went to bluegill fishing and ended up with 50 nice gills before it got daylight out. As soons it got daylight the bluegills just stoped hitting period. We stayed till 10am and then just went home. The best baits this morning was wax worms with green and orange moon glows. Its looking like maybe next week is going to get warmer out. So hope you all can get a chance and get some gills for your dinner. Well good luck and catch some fish, Caznik

I also have swivel mounts and the bases that go's with these downriggers. I really like to sell these as soon as possible. I am buying me some new electric riggers this year. Thanks, Rich -
Took two of my friends from work out fishing this afternoon on a private lake called Lower Lake. We started fishing at 3pm and was all done by 6pm. The fishing was pretty good and we caught 50 nice gills out of three fishermen. The bait that we used was wax worms and red spike's and the hooks was green moon glows. The ice conditions are very good with around 7-8" of good ice. Well looks like I better get some sleep because now two more of my buddies want me to take them out tomarrow morning at the same lake at 4:30am. Hope you all can get a chance to get out and do some ice fishing this weekend. Good luck, Rich

Thats good walleye exspress, just seems like every year hardly anyone ever seems to want to post any fishing reports at all. Nobody needs to give out any wavepoints, but just a simple report that anyone can just get a little start for his fishing trip. Cazzz
-
Thanks for taking time and doing a report Nick. The smelt are bitting really good to at Gull Lake also. Rich

Weekend warrior's, I love two fishing web site's that I like to use to put on my fishing reports on every year to help out other fishermen and to check out other fishing reports to, so it can help me get an idea where to start fishing. Well seems like every year there is getting to be no more salmon fishing reports on any great lake's anymore. Now when you post your reports you do not have to give out your cordinace if you like. But just give out a simple fishing report just to help out other fishermen that might need a little help to start there day. Something like this: Port: Frankfort Location: North Fished: 4:00am-8 am Depth of water: 80-90 FOW Lure's: Stinger stingray NBK and Dreamweaver Mag. Glow Frog. Downriggers: 25-45' down Dipsy's: 122' back Other weaponds: Full core, SWR rod, and half core. All went. Fishing was really hot this morning fishing at Frankfort. We ended up 8 for 12 and had some big kings. It was just a great day on the lake and had a great time fishing this morning. Caznik Now come on member's, that was not to hard to do and there was just enough info to help another member out here on this site. Lets see this year how many of us can do this, this summer. Caznik

Hey you fishermen, With the charter fishermen fishing sometimes seven days a week and us weekend warriors out there fishing on Lake Michigan all the time. How many pounds of fish do you think get caught out of Lake Michigan every year? Caznik
-
Took a trip out ice fishing this morning with Severus and Sixshooter at Lower Lake in Barry Co. The fishing was very fast first thing in the morning then slowed down later on. All three of us caught around 50 nice size bluegills and a few crappie's. We fish with wax worms, mousie's, and spike's. We also used green moon glows, pink, and some other ice fishing jig colors that was all doing very well. There was alot of fish that we was marking all morning long in 16' of water. Ice conditions was very safe with around 6" of ice. Hope you all can get out there and do some ice fishing. Caznik
-
There was enough ice to have a snowmobile on it. To me there looked to be at least a good 6". Do you usally fish that lake alot? If you do sometime we will have to go there together and fish. The bluegilss are much better size there if they are bitting good. Rich

Decided to go out ice fishing tonight at my dads place at the lake called Leach Lake in Barry county. It was kinda slow fishing tonight with my friend from work but we did happen to catch 25 nice gills together. We was fishing in 17' of water all the way down south from the dnr boat launch, just to the left of the channell. The bait we was using was wax worms, mousie's, and spike's. Nothing was really the hottest bait tonight. The hooks we was using was green and blue moon glows. Well looks like I'm getting up early tomarrow morning and go fishing with Severus, Sixshooter, Sarah C, and his daughter at Lower Lake. I will let you all know how it went in the morning. Good luck this weekend and hope you all have good luck fishing, Caznik

Lake Ontario Fishermen, I use to remember a fishing show that was allways on Saturdays and they had a guy fishing salmon on Lake Ontario. I cannot remember the name of the show or the guy that was doing all the fishing charters on it, but anyways. He use to run a rig called the wonder rig. A wonder rig was using a downrigger rod with a small dipsy and putting a lure behind the dipsy like using a dipsy rod. But he would run that wonder rig on the outside rigger. He would put the dipsy back about 20' behind the ball and hook it to his outside rigger. By doing that the dipsy would bring his spread outside more from his boat. Has any of you guys ever ran such a rig and are you still doing it. If you are how good of a wonder rig is it anyways. I have never tried it on Lake Michigan, but really thinking about doing it this year for the fun of it. Caznik
