Hey Mike, What ever you do don't listen to Huntingfool43. He says he uses fishing poles. But what he really uses is 5.5 foot pitch forks. Those pitch forks are so stiff that no wonder the fish allways gets hooked up for him. Better watch out for farmer Steves stories. Cazzz

Man Mike I got to get to bed it 10 am and I work third shift. You got me all worried now. I forgot one more thing. When a rod gos up man you goota yell FISH ON. Mike this is big lake fishing not bluegills. Every now and then just yell it..FISH ON even if there is no fish on. Get your fishing buddys getting use to jumping out of there seats real fast. If they dont then that fish has a chance to get away. Just ask GLF, man I'd yell it about every 10min. and man would GLF jump out of his seat. But just ask GLF how that trick worked out for us. Mike, The 12lb. balls are best for getting your cable down straighter and not drag outwards like your 8lb balls did for you. Now if you want more hook ups, you must make sure your hooks are really sharp and maybe tighten your release a little more. But not to tight so you cannot release it your self. If you want good downrigger rods get the 8' heartland like I use. But if you want to use a rod for your SWR rod (two colors) then go with a heartland 8.5' rod. Hi Member's What a great time I had at the fishing show Saturday. First thing Trout tracker and I went to Big Boys on Pearl St. and had breakfast with John Williams from big Jon at 7:00am, man I had to get up at 5am to get there on time. I don't ever think I got up that early to just get breakfast and not go fishing. But it was a great time talking to John and learning stuff about big jon downriggers. Then after John left Larry and I waited for the rest of the guys. Sixshooter, severus, Oakley, and catfishogge met us there and they had breakfast while we was talking to them. Then around 9am Larry and I went to the show. Man there was tons of fishing stuff there. I ended up getting two Big Jon Captain pak riggers, a takle box to hold my spoons, six stinger lure's, and six fishlander lure's. I met Rob and Terry from stinger, Shane from Dreamweaver, The Berts rod holders guys, Ryan from Fishlander, and the offshore gang. These guys I all thank for all there donations to the West Michigan Fishing League. I didn't get out of there till after 12:30, just because I started looking at the new Lund fishing boats. Man I found the boat I really want now, but my wife told me no way. Well what you guys get, Rich

Ya Buddy, I allways told my self that I'd never run lead core because of how many fishermen have problems with other boats. Well that full core was really hot for me and so was the SWR rod with the two colors. But allways be on the defensive side Priority because there is still other fishermen that just don't care about what you have behind your boat. Good luck this year, Rich

I like to use 20lb. Maxima fiber glow. Its red fishing line and it worked very good for me last year.

Hello Members, Well yesterday I happen to go at my nearest bait shop to get all my hunting and fishing liecenes. I got my small game, all species fishing, combo deer, and my turkey permite for the price of $75.00. What I have herd is, that the liecence fees are going up in April. So you better get down there and get your stuff now. Im not for sure how much there going up. But they kinda told me that it would be like $2.00 more per liecence.
