caznik replied to caznik's topic in West Michigan Fishing League
This Thread is now open to all that like to commit on. As of right now I am not taking no more teams for the fishing league. Please if you cannot make it make sure that you let me know. As you can see on the right of your team name is a W and S. This means that you allready have signed the waiver form and also donated a Spin doctor. If you have not yet please make sure you get it done for this coming event. Thank You, President of the league Rich -

Hello Member's, Well sorry for the late report but I happen to get back late from fishing and had to work that night and had to get some sleep. Well anyways, team Caznik fished the 1st West Michigan fishing league at Port Sheldon Sunday and ended up in 5th place. The weather was very tough to fish in and we had a strong east winds all morning long. We started at Port Sheldon and the plans was to fish at Grand Haven near the dirty waters. We went 3/4 the way down and fished in 30' and marked alot of fish but nothing would go for us. By 8am we was at Grand Haven and took our first fish in 50' of water fishing with the full core with a stinger lure that I do not know the name of, but its there new silver with green tape that allmost looks like the NBK. Then we had a hit on a dipsy rod set at 3 back at 60' and lost that on a white hootchie with yellow tape with a green Caznik fly. The third fish that we had on and caught this time went on a rigger down at 45' fishing with a SWR rod with a Michigan dolphin stinger stingray. The fishing was not hot at Port Sheldon but Grand Haven was better to fish at. If only the waves wasn't so ruff i think alot of fishermen would of taken more fish. Tomarrow I should have all the event results to the 1st West Michigan fishing league and you can check out all the catches there. So for now hope you can get a chance and get out and fish this week or weekend. Caznik Waterfowl with a nice king that he caught on a full core rod.

Well this morning I happen to take a friend out turkey hunting for his first time and it paid off. His name is Jeff and he work 3rd shift with me and we made plans on going turkey hunting after work this morning. We got out of work at 7:30am this morning and got set up in the woods by 8:15am. This morning I happen to take my Rod Benson slate call with me and I'll tell you something. That call is my best call that I have ever owned. As we both sat down I started doing some hen calls and nothing was gobbling back at us. Then I had an idea of making a sound like there was alot of turkeys and a turkey fight was happening. I did that for 15min straight and then all of a sudden GOBBLE GOBBLE. My buddy said OH SH___T you here that. I told him to take it easy or you will miss. Man he was so excited that he kept on moving all the time. I told him it was really close but we just couldn't see it yet. I made some more clucking calls and herd him again. He was really close now and Jeff was getting really excited that he started laughing for some reason and told me I'm going to miss. I said calm down darn it and you will be allright. Then in about 5 min later here he was coming in full strut. Oh man you should of seen Jeff then. His first turkey coming in all in full strut and when ever I kept on clucking he kept on gobbling. Jeff was really pumped and kept telling me stop calling because he was really excited and couldn't stand seeing that big turkey gobbling like he was coming in. Then the big tom came in 15 yards and I said shoot it. He wouldn't shoot and then for some reason the turkey seen him and was clucking back. I started calling more and clucking alot and he stoped again. I said SHOOOT it.......He said now.. Then all of a sudden BANG. He got his first turkey, and was very excited and chased me around the darn woods telling me he wanted to hug me. Man I was trying to stay away from that crazy guy and man we both had a blast hunting together this morning. Well here is his first turkey: Jeff With his first Tom that had a beard 9 3/4 " long with 1" spurs and was 21lbs.

West Michigan Fishing League Member's, Well guys, I have been wondering how the fishing is going to be for this coming Sunday May 6th for the first event of the year. Well lets start it off by helping each other out right now because latley the fishing has not been all that great out at Port Sheldon. I have herd of three reports allready that Grand Haven was doing pretty good right now. So come on lets keep this thread going by helping each other out and keep everyone informed on how the fishing is doing and going to be like on May 6th. Lets start off by what is going to be your plans for May 6th and what you think will be the best thing to do. I know alot of us are wondering the samething like me. As of right now I like to run all the way up to Grand Haven to see if the fishing would be better there than Port Sheldon. But you all know that is a long run and its about 5 miles there. Is it worth it or what? Remember guys this is just a fun fishing event that only cost $15.00 a boat and it is not a pro am tournament. Yes I know it will be a compeitive compition but just because you are catching fish on a certain lure does not mean that another member will. To me its all luck and if the fish are there and hungry than you will have the luck. Well as of right now if I had to fish Port Sheldon May 6th. I would probly run all the way over to Grand Haven and start in 50 ft of water near the dirty water, or where ever the dirty water shall be that day. So what do you all think, Lets start helping each other out now, Caznik

Good idea, I will get that done right now...
