CaC, I have Bert rod holders on my boat right now and they worked ok for me using dipsys and core rods. But now I wish I went with Big jon rod holders just because they are much stronger than my Berts are. Get the Big Jons and they will work much better for you. Rich

Very nice Doug, I would just love to have a perch dinner someday if they ever start bitting over here. So how big were those tasty things. Rich

I have allways wanted to try a whole turkey but have just not done it yet. I have smoked turkey legs and they have allways turned out very good. My plans is when I smoke a whole turkey is to. Soke the whole turkey in apple juice for two days in the fridge. Then put it into the smoker with apple chips and put the apple juice brine in the drip pan instead of water. If those turkey legs are good that way. Then I bet a whole turkey will tast just as good. Rich

I use to allways run squids behind dodgers and allways had very good luck. Chrome flasher with glow or green squids, orange and black squids, and white flashers with glow or green squids. Never ran any squids behind any beachholders or spin doctors yet. Rich

I had it gone with in 2 minutes and I asked for another one and they gave the next one free and said they call a cab. Man the Grand River water is good Cazzzz:cool:

There is alot of ways to go out bush tail hunting and my way is like this. When I first start walking in the woods, I really start listening for accorns falling from the trees. When I start hearing the accorns fall from trees I will start heading in that direction slowly. Once I get there about 20 yards I will wait for an half before I start walking again. Alot of times I will see more than one bush tails up in the trees. If I dont see any or they will not answer to my calls then I will walk slowly again in the woods till I start hearing accorns fall from the trees again or hear them barking in the trees. My favorite gun to use is a 22 just because you will not bite into a lead shot when you eat them. My bush tail calls I like to use is a bush tail barking call and my new one that I made up is to blow out with your mouth with one hand cuped in front of your mouth and make several deer snort sounds. It may sound funny but I have taking a few friends out hunting with me and they know how good it does work. But it funny to watch them try and do it. They cannot do it right the first time and it takes them about all day till they find out the right way. Well how do you guys do the bush tail hunt thing when you go out. Caznik

Well this morning was much colder than yesterday morning and the bush tails just wasn't out much. Seen alot of them but they would never come down from the tree tops and both of my bush tails calls just wouldn't work for me either. I ended up shooting two of them and that was the only two shots that I took this morning. Well looks like I may try it again sometime this coming week and weekend before bow season starts up. So get out and lets see what you guys can do this year out bush tail hunting. Caznik

Went out this morning and it was very good hunting for bush tails. Seen about 15 of them but only could get 2 bush tails this morning with my 22 that still is not working very good yet. Darn thing just keeps on miss firing or jaming. Called up Marlin and they told me to try high vilosity ammo. Oh well but anyways, I have a new trick for hunting bush tails if you do not have a bush tail call with you. Have you ever herd a deer make a snort sound and then in about 3 minutes later you here a bush tail start to bark. Well this morning the darn bush tails was so high up in the tree tops that I thought I'd try and make a snort call like a deer with my mouth. Well lets say it really works good as soon as you find out how to do it. It don't work all the time, but it worked for me about 7 times out of 10 times I tried to do it. Well I'm going out and try it again tomarrow morning . So see you later and get out and go hunting. Caznik
