The US Coast Guard and Ottawa County Sherriff's Department will be conducting voluntary safety inspections at the DNR fish cleaning station parking lot on April 18th from 9 am to 1 pm. This is a non-enforcement event that would allow education and information to be exchanged while allowing your vessel to be inspected for free. If it passes you may get a sticker to put on your windshield that says you were passed for the season. This may help to keep from getting boarded or inspected this season while you are out fishing.
